Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston Pacesetter BSN Spring 2025

Published

Hi, I am a pre-nursing student aspiring to start my nursing journey at UTHSC Pacesetter program in Spring 2025. I am starting this thread to connect with individuals on the same path. I will complete my prerequisites by August 2024 and plan to take HESI the same month. I plan to catch the deadline of September 1, 2024, for Spring 2025 admission. I am nervous since if I don't get admitted this time, I will be wasting more than 6 months. I really hope I get this.

I started losing hope. I have 3.97 GPA cumulative and Science 3.94

With HESI 91.4. I started becoming nervous. Any other suggestions for good uni. I was thinking about UST, it is very expensive

They said the tuition is 70.000 for the 12 months. That is incredible

I applied to UST for Spring 25. At this point I'm just trying to start nursing school.

Yes I'm in that process, I talked to the advisor she was super helpful! I know is a lot of tuition but is a good school too!

try it again today around like 11 if not I usually call later in the evening at 2-3.

I wouldn't call them. Especially multiple times... they said last day to be notified is November 15th. I know it Sucks to wait but we all need to be patient. I don't think that first batch of acceptance letters was the final batch. Just be considerate of the overwhelming calls y'all might do. Especially if the same answer will be "everyone will be notified earlier or by Nov 15th"

agreed ! I only called twice for general questions and that was it. I just asked if they happen to know the GPA's that are being accepted and said they don't have that information yet cause no acceptances went out and I was like okay and that was it. I don't like to bother them because I know they're slammed with decisions, so I agree ☺️

I was reluctant to call them, too, but I never got a chance to talk to them. What can we ask them? Nothing. All they can say is, 'You will know by Nov 15.' I am not calling them anymore. I agree with you. However, this wait is grueling.

Okay so I got some information from an old classmate that was accepted into the program last year, she said that acceptance emails are sent out by how early you sent in your application/alphabetical order... so if you sent in your application early you will get notified early, same for if your last name is in the beginning of the alphabet. She also said, background checks "finger prints" are only ask to be done by those who got accepted.

I called the school as well to get more information because I was confused on the "acceptance" email, but my status still saying application received. They told me those aren't acceptance letters, they are eligible letters.

Eligible letters?

I never heard about that.

What does an eligible letter even mean/entail then?

That's what I said! The person on the phone overall was rude, so I just left it alone. I guess they were tired of the calls.
