City of Hope New Grad 2020

Published

Hi everyone,

Just started a thread for those who applied to the City of Hope New GRAD App that opened up in April and is for the August 2020 cohort. I submitted my application but never even go a receiving confirmation email. Anyone else have that problem?

How do you check the status of the application? I can't seem to find a "log-in" for external applicants on COH's website

I go to the careers page and hit "search current listings", that takes you to the jobs page, and on the right hand side, I see a button that says "My Submissions". Then when you log in, it should show you your submissions and status.

Mine hasn't changed since I submitted it at the beginning of the month, still showing "Completed".

Hello everyone! I submitted my application on April 2nd and just received an email on April 28th asking me to submit some questions such as when I am receiving my BSN, why I chose COH, and my top 3 unit choices. Shortly after I did receive an email for a phone screen, so I will be having mine tomorrow ? I'll update on how it goes!

Hi! I will be having a phone screen as well next week (although she didn’t get back to me with a specific day/time yet). Do you know who it will be with? (Will it be with Keila or a specific unit manager?). And is it just phone or zoom etc? OMG CONGRATS and good luck! Yes, that would be great if you could update us afterwards! Thank you!

I also received an email regarding phone screen next week, but she still hasn’t replied to me about the specific date and time! She just said it will be a phone screen. Yes, please let us know how it goes! Thank you and good luck! ?

Hello everyone, I am new here. Looking forward to share this journey with you all. Good luck!!

I also applied for the position and have a question which I wanted to ask a recruiter. Does anyone have HR’s number or email address?

I just finished my phone screen, and it was with Keila through a phone conversation (not zoom). She told me that apparently there are 600 applicants, but I'm not quite sure how many they're interviewing. She did verify and ask which units were my priority and mine is the peds hem-onc (they're hiring for 2 people on this unit). I will be interviewing with the unit managers next week via Skype :) It was about 40 minutes long and some questions were name a situation in which you didn't get along with someone you worked with and how you handled it, your weakness, why COH, explain about my favorite clinical rotation experience and why, and what nursing means to you.

Thank you for keeping us updated, and for sharing that helpful information! I'd also love to know if anyone has any advice about how to contact the recruiters or HR- do we just call the main hospital number and ask to be directed?

Good luck to everyone who is getting called!

WOW! 600 applicants...
CONGRATS! How exciting. Good luck next week! I hope it goes just as well for my phone screen next week. Thanks so much for coming back to share how it went, this is helpful. I’ll update as well as things change.

Hi yes I would call HR and ask to be forwarded to nurse recruitment. If you have a linkedin account you can connect with them that way too.

Good luck to you as well!

Anybody not get a response yet after emailing her what day and time you can do the screening next week? ?
