Chromebook or Tablet

Published

I am wondering anybody using a tablet for school? Or should I just go with a chromebook?

I used an iPad last semester and it was more trouble than it was worth. Now I'm going with a MacBook and I'm taking handwritten notes.

Thanks Purple I thought that too not into tablets anyway going with a chromebook cheaper.

I'm hoping I won't be the only one in my class doing it "old school" and taking hand written notes. I haven't been a student for almost 18 years, but I do remember that what my dad told me was true: you remember MUCH more of what you write than what you just read or hear.

Completely agree. Plus I draw all those extra scribbles and diagrams all over my notes...can't do that on a laptop. After class I'll type the notes up for reinforcement, but that initial handwriting is the best way I learn.

I take handwritten notes (and use my tablet or laptop while having downtime in between classes). Two of my professors put powerpoints and learning outcomes up and I download them to my tablet.

Everyone's learning style is different, it really depends on the person.

Actually, you can write and scribble with a Surface and stylus.

I personally don't like chrome books because they are google everything. which bothered me.

I like printing out my lectures.

Our school uses lots of powerpoints so we can just print that in a multi slide handout format and just write extra side notes as needed.

I also like printing them out in black and white and then coloring in the slides I have trouble with.
