Hi fellow nurses! I am Sherry and I applied to the CHOC fellowship for multi specialty area recently & was just wondering if anyone else has applied for it too?
i graduated in May 2017 so technically I’m not considered a new grad, but I’ve never actually worked in an acute care as a RN, only outpatient. so technically I’m a stale new grad? it’s super difficult to make it in the hospital w/o acute care experience, so I decided to apply to the fellowship!
I looked on here for last year's (Feb 2019) cohort forum to compare dates and saw that people were still being contacted this week for interviews, and Mission applicants seemed to hear much later than Orange campus. One applicant heard 12/20 for a 12/27 interview! Another posted that a unit wasn't making decisions until the first week of Jan, after the holidays. So I guess if still 'under review' we're still being considered!
I was in the residency a few cohorts ago and know that for ours, most people received a soft offer from their units within a week of interviewing. And I don’t know too much about mission hospital, but they’re still part of the same residency as Orange so I think they still have to meet the same deadlines in regards to making offers and sending that info over to HR! thanks!! it was actually from the manager who was in my interview! said I was receive an email from HR within the next week or two
Congratulations. I received a phone call from the manager who interviewed me too and they said the same thing that the HR will contact me later. I was so excited that forgot to ask about the timeline or if the position is for nights or days. Did they tell you anything about that?

congrats to you too! Honestly that happened to me too? So excited I did not get that information. I truly did not have a preference and will take whatever I am given!
