Hi fellow nurses! I am Sherry and I applied to the CHOC fellowship for multi specialty area recently & was just wondering if anyone else has applied for it too?
i graduated in May 2017 so technically I’m not considered a new grad, but I’ve never actually worked in an acute care as a RN, only outpatient. so technically I’m a stale new grad? it’s super difficult to make it in the hospital w/o acute care experience, so I decided to apply to the fellowship!
wondering if anyone is on the same boat?
I applied to PICU and interviewed last week but haven't heard anything back...the PICU hiring manager gave me her personal cell number at the end of my interview. does she do that for everyone? Also, on my CHOC application page it now says my status is 'process completed' instead of 'under consideration' but i haven't heard anything. does anyone know what this means?

Mine still says ‘under consideration’ and I haven’t seen anyone say that they have heard offers from the PICU so still hold onto hope. I know I am ☺️ This process is really good at testing patience

Same. What unit did you apply to? I applied to the NICU @ Mission but haven't seen anyone post about that unit. I'm still listed as 'under consideration.' In the past, I've applied to other nursing positions (non-new grad) and when not selected it lists "process completed" after I received an email notifying I'm not qualified. I think they'll send out a mass email of those not selected and status will change. Hopefully we'll hear something this week!
I applied to the NICU at Mission and have not even been contacted for an interview ?but it still days under consideration for me as well. So frustrating to leave us hanging like this but yes, I agree and think we’ll remain “under consideration” until all job offers and acceptances are completed and then they’ll change our status. I’m wondering if CHOC Mission NICU has contacted anyone?
