CHOC Children's Hospital of Orange New Grad Feb 2011

Published

As of yet there is no thread dedicated to the CHOC New Grad Program for those who applied to the Feb 2011 program. Thought I would start one so that we can all communicate during the application process. I applied to the Orange NICU and was told from the nurse recruiter that they will be contacting about interviews as late as dec/jan...

Good luck to everyone who applied!

For those that got NICU positions, did you all have your preceptorships at CHOC?

I applied for the NICU @ Orange and haven't heard anything yet. My online status still says my application will be reviewed. I'm still hoping to hear something! I applied for the August program as well. I think the above info on the NICU was for Mission, has anyone heard from Orange for NICU positions?

crossfingers 10 - I know that 4 people were hired in the NICU at orange, and at least 3 of them precepted there. I wish I had been one of those lucky girls!

I was hired in the NICU at CHOC @ Mission.

Congratulations! I applied for the NICU at Mission as well. My status still says under review. Do you happen to know how many spots were available? This is my second time applying. I didn't get an interview the first time I applied but my status said "under review" for the longest time. That time, i think my status changed just a few weeks before the program was supposed to start in August. I am not sure if that meant they kept me in mind in case new positions opened up.

I am patiently waiting for a response. Does anyone know how many candidates they take for their residency program? I applied to the CVICU and interviewed, I'm just waiting for a response. She told me they would be choosing people within 3 weeks. It's been 3 weeks and a few days...tick tick tick. Time goes by so slowly!!!

Thanks! I think there was only 1 position open but I'm not positive. Have you called HR to see what "under review" means? Good Luck to you!

Does anyone know HR phone number? I can't find it anywhere on the website. I called and left a voicemail for the number they left on the RN residency info page, but they did not call me back...

Just keep calling back, someone does answer the phone for that number so you'll get someone at some point. That number is for the RN Residency Program so they'll more than likely have more info than HR. However, all the units do their hiring separately, so they don't have general information about interview and hire dates, and they don't always know what each unit is doing. I've applied to the program twice, so I've talked to this lady a few times. Sometimes she has good info and other times she isn't sure either.

Just received a rejection letter in the email, well it's official!

hey how did the interview go for CHOC new grad program? What type of questions did they ask you? What do you think they saw in you that they didn't see in the other 1000+ applicants?

I just applied to the new grad program, I don't even know what to expect right now any advice will help.

Thanks

Still wondering if anyone out there can help us new grads gather an idea on what to expect from an interview with CHOC? Thanks in advanced =)
