CHOC Children's Hospital of Orange New Grad Feb 2011

Published

As of yet there is no thread dedicated to the CHOC New Grad Program for those who applied to the Feb 2011 program. Thought I would start one so that we can all communicate during the application process. I applied to the Orange NICU and was told from the nurse recruiter that they will be contacting about interviews as late as dec/jan...

Good luck to everyone who applied!

Hey. Good luck to everyone applying! Does anyone know when in February and when in August the Residency program usually starts? Also, do you have to have your license upon starting or can you have an interim permit while waiting for NCLEX results?

I am doing a clinical rotation there right now and I love it!! Great place to work, wish you all the best (and hopefully me one day) through the application process!

Has anyone heard back yet or been scheduled for an interview?

Just checked on their website, and they put a nice little rejection note on there. Something along the lines of "we have chosen to pursue other candidates..." Sooo sad!

I am sorry to hear that Mister Simba. I really hope you have better luck with UCLA!

Dang! I got the same little rejection as MisterSimba. :(

Where are you guys seeing the rejection note? My status says "under review" is this bad or good?

Aw so sad I got the reject letter too :(

hmm How did you see your status? Is there a link to the log-in? Maybe because their site is down right now.

My status is still in review too.

So I know they hired 2 of my friends in NICU and that was out of 4 positions (as far as I know). I'm interviewing on Tues for Med Surg, where they are only hiring one person, and I'm not sure about the other units.

Also, you do have to have your license by the time the program starts. This year it was August 9, but I'm not sure about the Winter program (I think it is early March). They will not take IP's (at least this is what they told us back in August).

I was hired in the NICU at CHOC @ Mission.

Mine still says under review. I went in for an interview at the CVICU last weekend. I'm crossing my fingers!!!
