CHLA RN Residency September 2013

Published

Hi Nurses :)

Wanted to start a new forum for those of you applying for the RN New Grad Program for the Spetemper 2013 cohort.

Heres the Link: http://www.chla.org/site/c.ipINKTOAJsG/b.3929777/k.E91E/Nursing_Career_Opportunities.htm#.UT6aKo7fRdQ

Applications opened today so best of luck to all who apply!

I went to an interview on Thursday (for a different hospital) and met another interviewee outside. He explained to me that he had already had a few interviews INCLUDING CHLA last Thursday (4/4). .

Was he an internal candidate No one has reported getting interviews yet. Almost my entire cohort applied (60 people), and no one has said they got an interview yet....So unless he was internal or was best friends with a unit manager, I dont know if this is true....

Are there any male members on this forum? I'm just wondering because being a man would be a great way to stand out! I am not a man :)

I think someone posted that they talked to a recruiter who said they'll start reading applications April 15th... We should start hearing from them after that.

I am also not a man. :) Haha. How many of you are second-degree nurses? Does anyone else have kiddos? I have a 5-month old son. :)

I don't have kids, just two cats and a boyfriend :/

I have a master's so this is my THIRD degree and let me just tell you how happy I am that this is the last time I'll be in school. I AM TIRED OF BEING A STUDENT!! My program was only 14 months but it's intense and I'm burnt out...I'm suppose to be writing a stupid PH paper- clearly I am having a hard time focusing!

@BABYRN88, I have two kids a two year old son and a 17 month old daughter. i had both my kids in nursing school. I started nursing school in 2009 had my first child in 2010 and my second during peds rotation 2011. They are true blessings and with the help of my husband I learned time management. I consider myself a pro..... literally.

I applied and still haven't heard anything yet. I'm currently in a 13 month accel BSN program and keeping fingers crossed!

As far as I know, he wasn't an internal candidate or anything. I know he works somewhere in Brea... Perhaps he just misspoke about which hospitals he interviewed with...or maybe he was trying to psych me out. DEFINITELY hope he wasn't (but if he was, it totally worked).

Hey there everyone new to this discussion I graduated at the end of January with my BSN mother of 3 paramedic for the past 7 years. I put cardio thoracic ICU as #1 and ED as #2 my friend was in the last cohort and said they usually call based on department..... Anyone else pick CTICU?
