Children's National Nurse Residency Fall 2021

Published

Hi all! Haven't seen a topic for the Children's National Nurse Residency for Fall 2021 so I figured I'd start one for anyone else applying!

Nope! All my apps still say under review. Anyone know how long it usually takes to hear back?

Did anyone else get email today about completing a pre-employment background check and drug screen?

nevermind! The recruiter just reached out to me and told me it was a mistake but that must mean they are looking at our applications and hopefully we will hear something soon!

I applied as well. Hoping we hear back within the next couple weeks! Which units did everyone apply to?

Hello Everyone! I am about to submit my application! I am submitting mine to the NICU!

I applied for everything except Neuro. I did a clinical rotation on the Surgical Care Unit and loved it! Normally they hire the students from their Summer Externship that stay on as techs but since that was cancelled it’s fair game for the rest of us.  I wish they weren’t so late in the game. I also applied for all the Peds spots at Inova.

I hope we hear back soon!

Hi all, just curious: for those who have applied, are you graduating in May?

I am, though I know that there is a lot of domino effect of previous cohorts being bumped later from last Summer.

Also, does anyone know much about the DC license?  It isn't in the compact, and I called and we can't apply until we have our license in the state where we graduated.  Luckily the start dates are late (Sept) so that should give us time to test, get our other license, then apply for DC.  But would love further insight if anyone else knows.

I am also graduating in May. Not sure what I'm doing about my license yet either. Will probably wait a couple weeks to see if I even get an interview

Specializes in Operating Room.

I also graduate in May, I'm just gonna wait until I hear back about interviews before doing anything since I applied to residencies in a few different states. I want to take my NCLEX as early as I can though and colorado is really fast about getting our licenses done after testing. Anyone know how DC is about license by endorsement?

Has anyone heard anything yet? All my stuff is still under review. I applied to the PICU, CICU, and Trauma, but all of those apps are still open and taking submissions. Does anyone know when we should hear something?
