Hi everyone.
I am planning on applying to Chico states' Nursing program for spring start. I just got my acceptance letter for the school itself, but have no yet applied to the program yet.
I just want to know about the school a little more. I wanted to see what everyone thinks about the city itself and the school, the good and the bad.
If you can just tell me your opinions about the academics, the staff, and faculty I would love to hear.
I would also appreciate what you think of the people and the city itself.
I have a tour scheduled for in a few weeks, but I really would like to hear what other people think too.
Thank you! :)
Ceci81, Where is Mammoth?
Also did you say that when it gets closer to spring start, there will be a lot of places for rent? I'm like looking now and not many are available, except the apartments and stuff. But those all require credit checks and application fees and tons of other things. Plus, I want to rent a little studio/cottage/house or something, but I see none at the moment that is renting out for dec/jan.
Mammoth is a small resort town about 3 hours south of Tahoe. It's pretty well known in So Cal for great skiing/snowboarding- driving here from LA takes about 5 hours. It's not as popular of a destination for Nor Cal people because the Eastern Sierras suck to drive through in the snow, and Tahoe is closer to you guys. They did start doing commercial flights from SFO and Sac but in the winter they are cancelled about 50% of the time due to the weather.
@Ceci81 I think I've heard of Mammoth. Isn't there this one beautiful and popular waterfall there? I was supposed to check it out during the summer, but plans changed.
@Jennybewbs I haven't been to Tahoe either! ): My friend was supposed to take me but he took my sister instead, waaaah. Lol.
For housing, are you guys just trying to find a place for spring semester only and then look again after semester ends? I don't know what to do yet. ):
Ab92, What kind of friend is that????? LOL. Roadtrip?
For me, I'm looking for a permanent stay... but if I don't find something low, I'm only going to rent until the semester and then slowly find something cheaper and permanent hopefully. I hate moving... I JUST moved a month ago to a new home with the parents... and I'm moving again to Chico.. Haha.
@Jennybewbs I know right? I got upset with him so he came to my work one day and brought me lunch, lol. I didn't get upset anymore. But yes! I am so down for a road trip!
I want to do a permanent stay too, but what happens when I realize I might not get along with my roommates or don't like the area/community the place is located. I think I'll do a temporary spring housing then look for a permanent one during the summer when I've gotten a better idea of Chico.
