Chemeketa Kaplan 2020

Hello all, once again I have applied to Chemeketa's nursing program. This is my second attempt at getting into nursing school and I was just curious what everyone is studying for the Kaplan again. Last year I got 42/50 and made it on the alternate list but this year I am trying to study starting now rather than waiting until last minute. Thanks for any advice anyone can provide ?

I hope they do it faster this years since those that are accepted will have so much to get done. ?

For sure! It’s over a month behind!!

I’m wondering how they will do the CPR class with covid

Is the CPR class usually provided through Chemeketa, or do we have to go through an outside resource (like an American Heart Association or Red Cross course)? From what I could tell, at least through the Red Cross website, is that all of the courses are online only for now.

I know that they offered it through Chemeketa in prior years and that it had to be in person not online. I’m sure that will change due to this though.

I just emailed and asked Connie if they’re accepting 40 or 48 students

Did you ever happen to hear back from her?

No she hasn’t emailed back yet! I will post on here when she does ?

I got this response about a week ago: We hope to admit 40, but things change in this crazy world. We hope to have results to you by mid June.

This almost sounds like they might take less. ? Or am I just being paranoid?

That’s how the response sounded that I got awhile back- it almost seemed like it possibly could be less than normal.

Hopefully not. I'm trying to not think of the worst, but it could be possible.

I wouldn’t be shocked if they even postponed it until Winter term?? ugh this pandemic is turning out to be even worse ?

I just found out from my friend who is graduating this year that they have three instructors retiring, so that could be why.
