Chemeketa Kaplan 2020

Hello all, once again I have applied to Chemeketa's nursing program. This is my second attempt at getting into nursing school and I was just curious what everyone is studying for the Kaplan again. Last year I got 42/50 and made it on the alternate list but this year I am trying to study starting now rather than waiting until last minute. Thanks for any advice anyone can provide ?

Hi everybody,

Good luck to all and I sure hope they accept at least 40 students! This was my fourth try on the Kaplan and I got an 86% this year and I have 332/335 points. Like others have said the math and reading are pretty basic. The science and writing kept messing me up the last few years. I basically went through quizlet and would write down questions that seemed familiar and I studied them over and over. For the writing I bought an ACT book and there is a chapter in it that is literally the exact same as the test and that is what finally got me a decent score. Fingers crossed for all of you!

You should be really proud of yourself for continuing! I was really disappointed with my score this year for the first time taking it- I was expecting better on the reading and writing.

That writing section is nuts.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that thought so. The reading- I think I rushed it. I was nervous & it was the first section. But that writing I was like what?!?

I agree. Some other people have mentioned it and I agree that so much of the writing seems almost subjective.

I felt the exact same way about the reading! I was so nervous, everything I read was not staying in my brain!

This almost sounds like they might take less. ? Or am I just being paranoid?

No, not paranoid. I thought the same thing. I am trying not to go there! Hopefully all will be answered next week!

CONGRATS, I have the same score! It’s my third time applying this year.

Writing is absolutely horrible! I felt like it was written by a 10 year old. I could have easily removed almost all sentences when it asked which were repeated and irrelevant ?

The reading and writing sections were awful! Specifically the writing though it felt like there were so many question that either had several answers that could work, or none at all.

I have a friend who is in the program and said first year students(second year in fall) were told fall would be online as well. So I’m guessing it will be the same For the incoming cohort ?

You all saw the email that just came out? Necessary labs will be in person.

I didn’t see the email. Is that all it says?
