My name is Jamie. I attended the first application session today at Chattahoochee Tech for the Fall 2016 program. I've enjoyed following the last two groups of prospective students on these boards and thought I would see if I could get one started for the 2016 applicants. I'd love to get to know other prospectives and share the emotional rollercoaster that hopefully ends on a high!! :)
Hello again! I have been very busy with my cruise over spring break and then my boyfriend proposed so now I have my engagement and school keeping me very busy! The program is difficult, as is all nursing programs, but the last graduating class all passed the NCLEX on their first try with a lot passing at 75 questions! You will be challenged and it will be crazy, but the reward will be worth it. The Class Officers will be at your orientation and we will do our best to give you advice on how to succeed. We had our orientation in late July, received acceptance letters early July, and interviewed late June. I would look up possible interview questions and start preparing for what they will ask. We have a large range of TEAS scores in our class. Since it is a point system you can get in as long as your points are high enough. Good luck everyone!
Welcome to the group, Lexi! Good luck with your Micro finals!! I hope you got your car issues worked out. I ended up with another minivan. All that shopping and researching and other than a color change I have the same car...just newer. :) I tried to graduate the van, but when you have 4 kids and the oldest two are 6'1" and 5'8"...there really wasn't another way to go. I'm getting so nervous as the time is approaching to find out if we have an interview. Praying for us all. :)
So first it was the car, now my kids' school announces multiple cases of lice. One in my daughter's class. One of the kids with it shared a hotel room with my child in DC last week. Of course, being teen girls, they did each others hair using the same hairbrush many times. So instead of writing a final paper today, I've been washing possibly infected items, bagging other possibly infected items, spraying heads with enzymes and PANICKING! I want to be a nurse. I can handle blood, guts, urine, feces, puke...I can handle ANYTHING but parasitic creepy crawlers on mine or my family members' heads. Ugh. Gotta write a paper! Thought this would be the safest place to air my lice fears. haha Wouldn't want to embarrass any school families in other social media outlets.
Hello everyone! I'm Ashley and another Fall ADN 2016 hopeful. I know some of you from my science classes :) Although I couldn't be happier that Spring semester is over, another stress begins...waiting to see if I, well really We, are accepted into the program. Many sleepless nights, time dedicated to studying instead of time spent with family or other hobbies, and now all those Pre-reqs are behind and the final time draws near. I've read throughout the years on here, the other hopefuls discussing their processes of acceptance or denial into the program. I've not added my points up yet, but will after I take my TEAS on Tuesday. Does anyone know if Chatt tech gives any priority to their own students? I know other schools do.

Hey everyone! My name's Lexi! I'm hoping to start the nursing program at CTC in the fall as well. I just took the TEAS today for the first time and I got an 86.7! I was really nervous because I took the practice test on the ATI website and got a 71. I wanted at least an 80 on the actual test so I'm thrilled with an 86!
My total points are 296 now, well, as long as I keep my A in micro after finals!
Jamie, I had almost the exact same issue as you! Someone hit me on Monday on the way to class and caused what looked like minor damage to my car, well two days later it broke down and I had to get it towed! I had to spend all day Wednesday and Thursday dealing with insurance, rental car stuff, mechanics, and of course its my luck the guy didn't have insurance! I was able to study the week before and over the weekend, but I didn't get to study much the week of the actual test!
