The schedule in banner is more like just a place holder for billing. Your actual schedule will be much different. One week you might be there just monday and tuesday, the next week you're there tuesday, wednesday, and thursday and the week after that all 5 days lol. I don't know whats up and whats down without my calendar in front of me most days lol. You should be able to go ahead and register on banner now once you're accepted if you want to, or you can wait until orientation.

I would tell you to do everything not school related now lol. I would try to make the most out of the summer before it starts because it takes a lot out of you and a lot of us had basically no life outside of school for a long time. Also, I personally watched some youtube videos about other people's experience in nursing school to get an idea of what to expect and what supplies I might need to purchase. Test Success makes a line of books that help you study and give you practice questions, a lot of us use those books each semester, but they also have a test taking techniques book that helps you learn how to answer NCLEX style questions, which I found really helpful. Made Incredibly Easy also makes good books that break each semester's main topics down. They do have a Fundamentals of Nursing Made Incredibly Easy that will give you a bit of an overview of what you will be learning the first semester. Once you get the facebook group active, try to create some sort of event where you guys can meet each other. It helps a lot with first day nerves when you actually know people when you walk in!

Rejection and acceptance letters will both be going out on the 7th this year

They were still going through a large stack on Wednesday. I was there today and asked, she said rejection and acceptance letters are both going out on the 7th this year. So unfortunately you still have to wait a little bit

They told us early July too but they actually went out a year ago today! Many of us got it 2-4 days later so it's almost time! Don't forgot, someone should make a facebook group once you start finding out who made it in. It is extremely helpful because there are constant reminders of assignments posted on there and an easy way to get information, ask important questions, or make announcements. But whoever makes it will be the administrator and it can be a lot of work depending on the personalities in your class lol. I am very happy I chose the program. We seem to be getting more hands-on experience before graduation than a lot of BSN graduates because they teach you a lot of skills early, we have a 100% NCLEX pass rate, and it is so much cheaper than other programs. We were just notified recently that we are the number 5 nursing program in the state as well! Many schools come to talk to us about RN to BSN programs, some not even requiring chem and statistics for us so once you graduate the program you can have your BSN in 12 months. Which is actually about the same amount of time as just going through a straight BSN program, but without loans! There were no problems finding a job for the last graduates, and many of them even were offered jobs before graduation. At this time, we do not have clinical at Floyd or Redmond.

I thought the same thing too the whole time I was waiting for my letter lol. I kept thinking maybe I messed up my 900 number and they cant find me in the system, did I spell my name right, etc etc lol. They have A LOT going on right now though so I don't think they could handle a few hundred emails. Summer semester for us started last week, they have been hiring new employees, orienting and training them, making our finals and tests, and remaking the summer semester and setting up our simulations on top of weeding through 350 applications! But I hear the 2 new fundamentals teachers are really great! I have only met one of them and she was really sweet so I think you guys will really like her!

The clinical hours vary each semester and sometimes by location. The first semester, most of us did 6 hour clinicals twice a week over 5 weeks. But some did five 12 hour clinical days. They didn't start until like 10 weeks in which was nice because most of the tests, skills labs, and projects were done by then. And then clinicals were done before finals which freed up 2 days for studying. This last semester we all did twelve 8 hour clinicals once a week, and then additional 6 hour clinicals for mental health observation spread out all over the semester. Im not sure what the lowest straight acceptance points were, I just know about the person with 241 getting rejected and then accepted.

Hi! My name is Alexis and I'm also a student in the program! Hey LC! lol. I go to Grady for clinical too, but on a different day from LC so we have pretty different experiences. We have been doing our clinical in trauma med/surg but I see LC posted about SICU! Do you have some inside info about us moving to that floor in the fall?? That would be a really cool change for our last semester! On my clinical day, we have multiple other schools on the floor so I have gotten to work with them and see what they can do, and because of that I am so glad I made the choice to go to CTC. We get to do so much more and our instructor is wonderful! There are 4th semester students there from other schools that cannot do half as much as we do by our second semester! And even one of the charge nurses for the floor would rather work with us, in our second semester, than new-hire BSN RNs because we are faster and more prepared! And that is all thanks to this program. For our summer PEDS clinical, they are going to daycares, the health department, Wellstar Paulding OR, and Wellstar Paulding ER, or like was mentioned before you can go to a summer camp instead of those 4. I was so bummed when we lost CHOA, but we will still get a variety of experiences during PEDS, and some hospital time. As far as points go, I was at 296 and was accepted, a friend was accepted with 271, and another girl in our class was originally rejected with 241 points but was then accepted once some seats were not claimed. But the low number can really vary a lot each year. Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see all the new faces!

Our acceptance letters came around June 25th and it was the longest wait ever! Around the middle of June, rejection letters went out. But don't be discouraged just yet if you get one. Seats may become available later when people start having to pick a program or cannot accept their seat. There is a girl in our current class who had 241 points and received a rejection letter at first and then was accepted later when seats opened up, so there is hope! If you have any questions, feel free to post and I will do my best to answer as soon as I can!
