Chattahoochee Technical College ADN program 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi my name is Samantha, I am currently a CST (certified surgical technologist) at CHOA, and I am considering applying to the ADN program for fall 2020! I actually completed the Surgical Tech program at Chatt Tech, and since then have been working at CHOA, I love my job there and love being a surgical tech, but really want to advance my career in the medical field by becoming an RN! I took my teas a few years ago before the surg tech program and got a 70 which is the minimum score and have a 3.46 GPA after the program. I would love to discuss with anyone thoughts about the program and any advise, about program admission, working while in the program, and tips and tricks for a higher score on the teas and CT exam!

They already gave dates for the ATI critical exam. Probably both letters are going to come around the same time.

They don’t... you get accepted into the lpn program in July and you get the email to register for the critical thinking exam this week July 22,23 dates. And get accepted into RN the first week of August

I don't think there will be that much overlap. I applied, felt good about my chances, and had no plan of applying to the LPN program. When I first started looking at going back for nursing I looked at LPN just to see if it would get me where I wanted to go faster. It would not, so I dropped that idea. It seems like it's almost the same amount of time, plus you don't save THAT much when you bridge. In school longer. I would probably just retake anything that kept me from the RN program and apply again next year, unless the max attempts has been met on pre-reqs.

The school probably also knows who has a shot at the ADN program, so I'm sure they have backups/alternates for LPN ready just in case.

I understand that I feel you on that the time to get lpn and bridge to RN program is way more than just going for your RN straight out the gate.

What!! I did not know that.

Has anyone gotten the CTE invite yet? They are cutting it close. Maybe CTC does not have all the requirements of some other schools as far as vaccines, physicals, TB test, certifications, etc... Trying to get all that done in such a short window is going to be tough.

Hopefully, everyone has most of that done.

CTE invites go out the week of July 13th to the CTC email.

OMG. They are taking so long to send Those emails! LOL

Hey guys! I have applied for both the ASN and the LPN programs at Chatt Tech. Signed up for the critical thinking and I am so ready to get ot done!! I have not gotten a rejection or acceptance to the LPN yet. Has anyone else?? I hate that it is all so last minute like this its giving me anxiety LOL this is my second time apply to RN (last year I did not take the critical thinking bc it was the day before my due date so I guess it doesn't really count..) also this is try 3 of apply for the LPN ? I retook AP2 and the TEAS so I'm praying that my grade increase helps.
