Hi my name is Samantha, I am currently a CST (certified surgical technologist) at CHOA, and I am considering applying to the ADN program for fall 2020! I actually completed the Surgical Tech program at Chatt Tech, and since then have been working at CHOA, I love my job there and love being a surgical tech, but really want to advance my career in the medical field by becoming an RN! I took my teas a few years ago before the surg tech program and got a 70 which is the minimum score and have a 3.46 GPA after the program. I would love to discuss with anyone thoughts about the program and any advise, about program admission, working while in the program, and tips and tricks for a higher score on the teas and CT exam!

Okay and Good luck you got this! Also I did take the TEAS at home, it was fine just make sure your alone with any distractions .. the test is timed. I wish I got a better score though. I got a 73

Speaking of the critical thinking exam, it was supposed to be in May. now it's pushed back to late July. There will be some last-minute scrambling to determine who is in.
I wish they were taking ALL the grades since my only B is in A&P 1. I actually retook it and got an A, but CTC wouldn't take it because the systems are covered in a different order (some in A&P 2 instead of 1).

RIGHT! I have a B in A&P 1 as well as lab. I tried my hardest. Everyother class I received an A including Micro. It's no way of studying for the critical exam so we will have to pray
I hope that you guys get in ??. Quick question because I can’t seem to get to anyone at the school smh. Bio 213 +L and 214 +L and possibly micro seems to be full for Summer and fall that works with my schedule and CTC, can I take it elsewhere and still be able to apply to the program for the fall semester?

If one of those is A&P 1, I would say no. Summer semester will likely end after they have made selections or really close to it. It's not likely they would get the transcript in time. I'll use Highlands as an example. Summer ends 7/28, maybe add a week for final due date, and then transcripts need to be sent. They wouldn't be uploaded in time.
But, even before that happens, you likely wouldn't get an invite to take the Critical Thinking exam on 7/21-7/22 because the other prereqs aren't done. The Critical Thinking exam is the last step for those that are qualified to move forward.

I would take Dr. j. Forrester ! canton ga she is wonderful. I took her for micro and a&p2 ... A&P 1 is harder and a lot of body systems. I would suggest to take it in fall. hopefully we all get in. I have a 73 on TEAS I just took today
