2011 Charles drew university Clinical nurse leader EL-MSN

Published

Hello,

I'm new to this board and just recently got an email to attend an interview for the clinical nurse leader - entry level masters of nursing next week at Charles drew university. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten an interview? I would like to talk to some of you interested in attending this program. I visited the campus and spoke to some faculty, it seems like an amazing place. Look forward to talking to some of you in the same boat as I am in.

Sincerely,

Ms1988

i received the email overall. Thanks guys. it was in my SPAM folder. im just completing the information right now thanks

Is anyone planning on working during the program? I want to so I could have extra money but idk if it will be too tough

Thanks for sending this out. I'm going to work on it now and take everything to campus tomorrow.

I would like to work a few hours a week. I haven't given my notice yet at my job but I think they may be willing to have me work a few hours but who knows. I just need to figure out how to balance everything.

I definitely want to work but who's hiring? I need an employer that would adapt to MY schedule

I went up to campus today and drop off my financial aid stuff. Thanks Hardworkpaysoff again for sending the additional info! I didn't even know we were required to do more than fill out a FAFSA. I was able to get my award letter (AKA debt for several years letter) right then which was great. I also found out that we have an orientation Monday the 22nd and school officially starts on Monday the 29th.

Giving my notice tomorrow! Has anyone done their CPR training or had their physical yet? I need to go to the doctor before I lose my insurance. Not sure if anyone knows but do we get some kind of student health insurance?

No problem, djdada. I haven't got my award letter yet, maybe I should go up there too. I haven't had my physical, because I don't know what forms we have to take or what we have to exactly get done. I did CPR training yesterday at this place in Carson for $50.

So school starts the 29th, I'm excited and hopefully I can get everything done on time like physicals, immunizations, supplies, books, and all that good stuff that'll probably hurt my pockets lol. I guess I should try to get a doctors appointment now.

Djdada...you received your award letter already? that's great! (I like the debt letter lol). When is disbursement? What loans did you take. I declined the Direct PLUS because I thought that it wasn't needed.

I'm going to go get a physical. Luckily I got my Titers done (as well as a tetnus with diptheria) so my immunizations should be complete.

I spoke with Financial Aid and what I understand is that I will still OWE money. possibly 3k to be exact. Whhere else can I get loans

The only thing I can think of is requesting the Direct Plus Loans or apply for a private one at the bottom of their financial aid page. I hate the fact that we have to get all this debt, but soon it will be worth it and will all pay off. I'm scared to find out how much I'll owe. Yea, I'll go up there tomorrow to check. In the mean time I stuck in this unecessary Chemistry summer class

Why are you taking Chemistry?

And yes...we are acquiring so much debt that it scares me. I will definitely pursue a loan forgiveness program

To be sure, did you state that there are private loans listed at the bottom of the Drew's Fin Aid page?

I was taking it as a pre-req for other schools I was going to apply to this fall, but now I guess it's pretty useless lol. Yea I saw a private loan online application on Drew's Financial Aid website. I didn't apply for them (yet), but I would do them as a last resort after the Grad PLUS loans.
