I'm new to this board and just recently got an email to attend an interview for the clinical nurse leader - entry level masters of nursing next week at Charles drew university. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten an interview? I would like to talk to some of you interested in attending this program. I visited the campus and spoke to some faculty, it seems like an amazing place. Look forward to talking to some of you in the same boat as I am in.
Does anyone know how financial aid works? I was offered sn amount but it was alllll loans and no grants. I'm use to grants... Are the loans supposed to cover the tuition. If so, I barely have enough to cover tuition. Mind you that they dont want us to work. I'm soooo nervous about this
Did you get an email? I was told an email with the award amount would be sent out but I haven't received mine yet. I'm assuming living expenses were not included. I'm really nervous too. I'm having to quit my job and I dont have much of a savings. I'm trying to figure out how to cover rent, car note, insurance and maybe some food. :).
MS1988 yes, I received an email notification of financial aid one or two days after I hand delivered my $100 deposit.
Djdada. I have no clue as to how to read this award letter. I'm not sure what it means for me. If I need to get loans I only want subsidized loans. Will fafsa even cover this? I totally hear you about covering rent, insurance and car notes... LOL about food
Did you check your spam folder? Did you ever fill out a separate application for financial aid woth the financial aid office. Also I don't have a facebook account and I hope i'm not coming across as anti-social or stand-offish but I have issues with fb. Maybe we can communicate in another way. But u wil pm you my email
Yea they sent me an email about the next step I had to take to complete my financial aid other day. We are not eligible for most of the grants because we already have our Bachelor's degree and are no longer get undergrad fin aid. So I am applying for scholarships & taking the loans, then try to the loan forgiveness program after graduating.
They had me correct my FAFSA & complete stuff on the federal student loan site (separate from the FAFSA). There are 3 types of federal direct loans they had me apply for (Subsidized, Unsubsidized, and Graduate PLUS). There are lifetime limits for each tho. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and still waiting on my award letter to figure out how I'll survive & make ends meet.
I think you should call up there. Going up there is better if you can. I'm not sure why I exactly did it but it needed to be done. Theres a separate form I had to fill out other than the fafsa
No I did not fill out the other form, were we supposed to? I just filled out fasfa. What should I do?
Here's the instructions they sent me. Hopefully it attached to this message. I had to do #5 & #7 after I did my fafsa. Pretty much you do the Entrance counseling then the Master Promissory Note. Yea I know it's a lot, but try to call the Financial Aid office tomorrow to clarify what all you need to do to complete it.
Meant to attach this one too (2011 Financial Aid Request Form). This is what you need to fill out to give to the school. I would go up there asap and talk to someone & let them know you already did your fafsa.
