I'm new to this board and just recently got an email to attend an interview for the clinical nurse leader - entry level masters of nursing next week at Charles drew university. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten an interview? I would like to talk to some of you interested in attending this program. I visited the campus and spoke to some faculty, it seems like an amazing place. Look forward to talking to some of you in the same boat as I am in.
my interview was okay. it was really quick as we were crunch for time. i was asked the same questions that i answered on the interview questionnaire. my file was reviewed; i had all the requirements. i didn't get warm and fuzzy feelings which is what i wanted. i think i am a strong candidate--good grades, good letters of rec, met the gre requirements. i still have to take the teas (computer issues the day of the interview). i hope that i get in and find out soon. i would prefer to give my job as much notice as possible before quitting.
Yeah I know what you mean. I'm trying to find out what the schedule of classes and clinicals are like so I can either quit work or go part time. I sent my $100 tuition deposit already for the inofrmation packet but nothing has come in yet. Hopefully I hear from them soon. I'm ready to start this semester already :)
congrats to all of you who were accepted! this is my first choice school for spring 2012. would any of you mind sharing what your gpa and gre score were so I have an idea of the range of students they are accepting? thanks so much! :)
I haven't heard yet. But I was told by one of the administrators that orientation will take place a week prior to the first day of school. School starts the last week of August.
I haven't heard anything yet either. Hopefully they'll send more info out this week because this is the last week before August arrives. I believe orientation is after the first week of August based on what I could gather from the administration, but it was unclear. Maybe they're seeing if we have the patience necessary for nursing lol.
As soon as I put that last post up, the mail came and I got my acceptance letter. Still no set orientation date, but happy to have received some good news. I would like to have time to order books online and not be stressed before school, so hopefully they let us know soon. I know a lot of nursing schools require physicals, do you know if we have to have one before we start?
I started to send in parts of my application for Spring, like the administrative assistant told me to do, and 2 weeks later I find out they have no record of my online application, UC Davis transcript, or GRE score. Did this happen to anyone else who applied for fall? It seems to be a bit disorganized :/

When you submitted your application did it take you to a PayPal screen? I had difficulty at first with submitting my application and contents and ended up having to personally hand in some of my things. How long has it been since you sent in your transcripts & GRE scores? Mine took a while because it was sent to the university first then the actual School of Nursing.

It did, and luckily I printed out the paypal receipt and emailed that to the admin assistant, as well as a copy of my GRE report that said they sent it to them. Did your online application never show up either? What did you have to hand deliver? I don't mind feeling out another application in person or hand delivering official transcripts, just dont want to pay another $100!
i got my letter of acceptance today as well. i'm so excited. now, i have to quit the job. ugh. a little bittersweet.
hannahsocal, i did have some trouble submitting my application as well. some of transcripts were missing. luckily, i had copies of everything and resubmitted them via email. i'm sure you won't have to pay another $100 for the application fee.
hardworkpaysoff, i think we do need to have a physical. i also need to take a cpr class.

how were your guys' interviews? did they say anything about when orientation is?
