2011 Charles drew university Clinical nurse leader EL-MSN

Hello,

I'm new to this board and just recently got an email to attend an interview for the clinical nurse leader - entry level masters of nursing next week at Charles drew university. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten an interview? I would like to talk to some of you interested in attending this program. I visited the campus and spoke to some faculty, it seems like an amazing place. Look forward to talking to some of you in the same boat as I am in.

I undergrad GPA was 3.3 and science GPA was 3.8. My undergrad was somewhat low but my last 60 units GPA was 3.75. In my application i explained my 60 units GPA just to show that i was improving even though they mainly focused on your overall undegrad GPA. Hope that helps

@ Ms1988: I too received an email for testing and an interview on monday june 20th. It seems like a very thorough process since multiple components including the TEAS test are included. Was your email similar?

@ Hannah: my numbers were terrible 3.1 undergrad gpa (due to switching majors a couple times), 3.5 science gpa, & 1100 gre (dont take it cold turkey like i did).

@DGzuss, yeah i received that one as well. It was somewhat unexpected but this is the program i really want to go to. The campus is small but the simulation lab is cool. I interview the same day as you.

yeah, same here. After I went to an info session and took a tour of the facilities, everything pretty much said, Wow.

No i didnt because this program didnt require it and this is the only program i wanted to get into at the moment. How about you and what other schools did u apply for?

Yeah I took the TEAS for the elmsn program at CSULB, but didnt get in. I didnt get into UCLA or Western either (terrible interview).

Is this the only program you applied to?

Also, how many people does the school accept each year? Last question is do they accept only once a year and what would be the application period for next time? They're website seems a bit unclear, just says June 2011 was the deadline for this fall. That seems like it's cutting it awfully close! was that really the deadline?

I too, got a letter from the school....my problem is that they sent the letter awfully close to the interview date and now im cramming for the teas exam!! i already took the TEAS exam in Feb and got an 80%..... DGzuss i wonder if theyll accept the past exam? and btw if anyone should be panicking it should be me.... i had a 3.2 gpa and got like 940 on my GREs...
