Hello,
I'm new to this board and just recently got an email to attend an interview for the clinical nurse leader - entry level masters of nursing next week at Charles drew university. I was wondering if anyone else has gotten an interview? I would like to talk to some of you interested in attending this program. I visited the campus and spoke to some faculty, it seems like an amazing place. Look forward to talking to some of you in the same boat as I am in.
Sincerely,

i think that the statistic reflects the majority of the surrounding demographics of the area and has nothing to do with the criterea to get into the nursing school, overall race is not a factor- they don't ask about what race you are but how you are committed to serving the medically underserved- most of whom happen to be minorities, the same mission that schools like UCLA strive for, but honestly I commend Drew for this because they truly walk the walk (as far as research, mission and the commitment). but if you wanted to know i also interviewed with a causasian guy who was applying to the school as well.
trying not to ask this question without sounding politically incorrect... are any of you guys who were accepted caucasian? im thinking about applying but ive looked at the statistics that they only have 8% white nonhispanic students and that makes me think my chances are slim. any input? thanks a lot.
you won't be the only caucasian girl applying im a redhead (about as white as they come) and applying for spring. any school that prides itself on diversity cant then discriminate against anyone, and im sure they wont.
it doesn't come up in the search.. that's odd. wanna add me as a fb friend? my email is [email protected]. i'm taking a huge guess that I met you at the interview cuz i saw your email addy in an earlier post.

I LOVE red hair! I'm thinking about dying mine (I'm black) but I dont want it to be seen as inappropriate.
I finally got my info packett. I wonder if they did the background checks yet? I did have a ticket that was wrongly issued and got dismissed. I think it shows up on the background
Hey purpelle, What was included inside the packet??. I haven't received mine yet. If u could tell me that'd be great

I honestly don't think it's an issue. Men are in the minority in the field of nursing, so if anything I think it would an advantage. I believe Drew just wants to produce good nurses, regardless of gender or race. I encourage you to apply.
