I am not sure about the enema you mentioned as far as having a therepeutic value but I did hear a story of a wife who gave her husband a brandy enema. I think he was an alcoholic and unable to have anything by mouth. She ended up giving the enema and he died of alcohol toxicity. Seems like level was approx 4-5 times the .10 limit.
Please note I have not researched this and it may be a bogus story.....but interesting at least.
In some areas of the country it has been a trendy thing with young girls & women to experiment with various ways of getting alcohol into the system without consuming the calories - I suspect this falls into that category, not as a therapeutic intervention.
I've heard about that - how disgusting and stupid, eh?
Either way...what a waste of perfectly good champagne!!! :chuckle
Brandy enema story...
Wish I had the money to throw away on champagne not only to drink but to stick up my butt...What a silly concept. -Andrea
I seem to remember reading a book about S&M (for a gender politics class, I swear!) and it talked about people dying from alcohol enemas. Also coffee. Heck, milk and molasses sounds weird enough to me!

I worked in an office once where women were talking about giving themselves coffee enemas. They swore it was good for you. I figured I'd rather just drink it and enjoy the taste ... And if you're needing to be cleaned out, drink enough coffee it'll clear you out anyway! :chuckle

Yeah, I don't remember it that clearly, I seem to recall it was just a cautionary "don't put coffee or alcohol in yer bum" thing. Maybe it can hurt you, but it doesn't always. Much like drinking alcohol can hurt you, but doesn't always. :chuckle

My textbook mentioned champagne enemas, but it didn't anything else about them. This seems really weird to me, I can't figure out why anyone would use champagne for an enema. It must be something to do with the bubbles....
Does anyone know? I'm curious.
