Nursing Students Online Learning

Just started Chamberlain University online RN to BSN. Oh my gosh! LOTS of papers. HOLY GUCAMOLE!!:typing I feel like I'm writing papers every day. Hopefully, it will be worth it. I should be done by July. How's everyone else doing?

Thanks for the info on the PERRLA Christy, I went and downloaded it and it's amazing :). Did you also buy the apa book? I think I should buy it as a reference, but just wondered if others might think it a waste of money if using PERRLA.

I did purchase the APA book. I highly recommend getting it. The PERRLA program is awesome but it's not perfect. :twocents:

Just got my Health Assessment grade today. I got an "A"!!:yeah:

I got an "A" in Health Assessment, too!! :D

I also have the PERRLA program, but purchased the APA book. Christy is right -- PERRLA isn't perfect, and I've found it's important to understand the APA guidelines.

thanks for the input, I was thinking the same thing. I want to be able to learn and understand it too, since it's so important to future writing. Congrats on your A's girls, woohooo!!! I start NR 351 today, i've already posted on the first 2 threaded discussions and posted my bio.

Hi It looks like you have been at chamberlain for a while. Do you use a APA template for the papers. If so which one. I asked the instructor and she said not too. I did get the book so I could check it, but it sounds like it would save time. If you use a program, does that show up when you send in your paper.

Thanks

Nancy

I have a question, wonder if anyone computer savvy can help me out... My instructor says our Professional Topic Paper must be submitted in WORD only, Office 2007. I have Microsoft WORD, Office 2007 installed on my laptop, but I was planning on using PERRLA to write my paper. When I was testing out PERRLA, the program states there is a bug when saving documents that corrupts them, so you must save them as Word 97-2003 documents. So.... is my instructor hip to the PERRLA program and discouraging its' use? or will it matter if I have them typed in Word 2007 but saved in Word 97-2003? I'm a little confused by this. Can anyone enlighten me? Have other instructors mentioned similar requirements?

Hey,

I am thinkin about joining chamberlain for the jan 11 semster... how is the program? i have done a lot of research about diff online bsn programs and ill be honest, the more research i do the more confused i become. But i thing i have found is that it is very hard to find a bad review about Chamberlain. As a former student... do you recommend their bsn program .... can you tell me any pro's cons about the program. your input is very appreciated.

thanks

I just finished my BSN with Chamberlain in October of this year. I really enjoyed the program. It was challenging and I learned a lot. I worked very hard and I am graduating with a 4.0 GPA. I had a couple of instructors for my GE's that I didn't love, but that happens with any college. Chamberlain is very helpful if you have any questions or problems. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about the program. It's great that you can go at your own pace. I was able to finish in a year. I also searched all the available on line programs out there and felt that Chamberlain was best for me. Hope this helps.

I am researching online RN to BSN programs and Liberty University is high on my list. I would love a bit more info from someone who is a current student-cost, amission requirments, how long to complete the program, time requirements (will I be able to work while in school?), is this a completely online program? I know thats alot of questions-I just submitted a request for information to LU but am very interested in any info that you can share. Best of luck to you!!!!

Hiii!

Wanted to find out if you decided to go through with LU's Rn to BSN program? :lol2:
