CWHNP Frontier Class 113
I applied for class 113 FNP. I am very patiently waiting for a reply. They just closed the admissions for class 113. I cannot wait to get a reply. I just wish it was sooner rather than later. I will be doing it part-time. I have 2 children under 6 and work. I do not feel that I will be able to give enough attention and get good grades if I go in full-time.

Help! FNP vs. ANP
After much thought about this same issue, I have decided that I want to pursue the FNP track. My reason is that I want to see a patients from different scopes of the life span. I want to be able to know that I can see the peds population and even do womens health. My brother who is an MD in Maryland told me that MD's prefer to hire FNP because they can then expand their practices and see children.

FNP/ANP vs. CNS.....and what programs are available online for NY residents??
I am also from the Long Island area of NY and was having a really hard time finding NP programs that are accepted by NYS, especially online NP programs. It turns out there are only 4 online programs that are accepted by NYS I was given this website by the NYS nurses board of education. You can find the New York State Inventory of Registered Program at: http://www.nysed.gov/heds/irpsl1.html

Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing-FNP Program
every program will probably be tough, thats why I decided to do it part-time instead of going in full time and going crazy. Also my word of advice to everyone before they choose a program, make sure that your state recognizes it. I live in NY and there are only a few programs that New York State will accept and Frontier is one of them. I was looking into Walden also but NY does not accept them. Best of luck for everyone. I am gettin my transcripts and reference letters prepared for Frontier. Hopefully I will be Frontier bound sometime in the summer!

Where is the best online NP program
Hello guys. I am currently an RN who is interested in pursuing an advanced nursing degree as an FNP. However I have come across a road block. I am a resident of NY and many programs are not accepting NY state residents. For example I pulled this off the Indiana state university website " At this time, the New York State Board of Education has not recognized or approved Indiana State University to conduct clinical nursing education with citizens from New York. Indiana State nursing programs have been submitted for review but it has yet to be determined if the online programs will be considered. Due to this unfortunate circumstance, the nursing programs at Indiana State University will not be accepting any undergraduate or graduate nursing students from the state of New York for admission into the major." and this from the University of South Alabama website New York and Pennsylvania residents only: We have recently been notified by your state*s Higher Education Board that all education programs including online programs must have approval by this board prior to citizens from your state enrolling in a program. Unfortunately, this means that we are unable to accept your application for the MSN program here at USA College of Nursing until we obtain approval to offer our program in your state. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. If you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact me. Is anyone else having this problem??? are there any NY state residents currently in an NP program online that can assist me???? I would really appreciate it, please help a fellow nurse in need!!! Thanks in advance
