Chamberlain Miramar starting Fall 2017

I didn't see a forum started for this coming fall students who are applying to Chamberlain so I decided to start one. If there is one already started please let me know.
I am applying for this fall and will be taking the HESI this Thursday kinda nervous since its 7 sections we have to take and its about 5 hours! Has anyone already taken their HESI and passed? If so any tips ?

Hello! Yes, I took the HESI recently, and did pretty well. I did fail the first time but then used the Ready For The HESI study guides. They study guides go over the topics that HESI tests over and then at the end it has practice questions.

You can also get one free hour of tutoring and a free practice test off their website.

I've been using the app for the HESI that I bought for $14 and this online website which is free to practice questions. So hopefully this helps me

I'm also applying for the fall semester. I took my second attempt last week. I think I did pretty good (86) for not taking Physio yet. I ordered the HESI A2 study guide off of Amazon and that was what helped me a lot.

I recommend you use one of your scratch papers given for math and write your score after every section that will give you a good baseline on what to study for before the next test. Speaking to previous students and doing some research online they say that the scores they look at the most is Math and English because the school doesn't just go off your HESI score but they have a "Chamberlain Score" that's what my advisor told me. Don't be nervous, take your time and you will do great.

I find out next week if I got in or not.

Which Chamberlain are you applying to? And in the application fee we get two attempts at the HESI correct? And do you have to take everything over or just the ones that were scored low? Ive taken the HESI before at a different school and I actually took it three times just because of math and anatomy with the third attempt of taking a&p and math over I scored in the 80s. I also was working full time and going to school so right now I am not but I still feel nervous even though I know what the test is like lol. I just never had to take the chemistry or biology portion.

I'm applying to the Sacramento campus, its the closest one to where I live about 3 hours away.

Yes we get 2 attempts, you have to take the entire test all over again. Most of the sections were the same especially in the math and english/grammar sections. Make sure to review conversions and I had a lot of ratio questions in my math section. Don't be nervous the school uses the best score out of both test dates. I'm in that same boat now, I'm currently working full time and go to school in the evenings. I hadn't even finished my Micro class when I took my test but they were very general science questions and nothing too in depth

Oh nice. I am applying to the one here in South Florida- Miramar.

That is really annoying that they make you take the whole test over. I am hoping that I pass the first try! I take it tomorrow so I am getting nervous as I am not the best test taker but I have just been taking practice test constantly so hopefully that will benefit me.

It is annoying but it has its upside if you dont do so well the first time. I dont know if its different between locations but at my campus required us to take it twice.

Good luck, you'll do great especially since you know what the test is like. Take your time and dont rush. I took snacks and water because half way through my stomach started to grumble :)

Oh nice I'm actually taking it again on Saturday! I did good on everything over 80s except for bio and chemistry it was extremely hard not what I was expecting. I technically passed but since we get two try's they recommended me trying again due to the sciences being a little low and they didn't want it to jeopardize their decision of accepting me. So why not we get two chances!

The bio was extremely hard for me I actually did okay on chemistry which was surprising. The book helps I also use the App HESI A2 which helps with answering the HESI type questions. Anatomy definitely know all systems and bones of hands and feet as well as the difference between ligaments and tendons.

Oh wow, that's awesome on the other sections though! When you refer to the book, you're talking about the Elsevier book? How long did you study for to get those scores?
