I didn't see a forum started for this coming fall students who are applying to Chamberlain so I decided to start one. If there is one already started please let me know.
I am applying for this fall and will be taking the HESI this Thursday kinda nervous since its 7 sections we have to take and its about 5 hours! Has anyone already taken their HESI and passed? If so any tips ?
Oh nice I'm actually taking it again on Saturday! I did good on everything over 80s except for bio and chemistry it was extremely hard not what I was expecting. I technically passed but since we get two try's they recommended me trying again due to the sciences being a little low and they didn't want it to jeopardize their decision of accepting me. So why not we get two chances! The bio was extremely hard for me I actually did okay on chemistry which was surprising. The book helps I also use the App HESI A2 which helps with answering the HESI type questions. Anatomy definitely know all systems and bones of hands and feet as well as the difference between ligaments and tendons.
omg good luck!!! you're almost there. here are my suggestions for biology and chemistry study topics:
Biology - 25 Questions
Chemistry - 25 Questions
[*]Amino Acids

Thank you very much! How many times did you take it?
Hey! I got an 83... I have some areas of opportunities in the Biology and Chemistry. I'm waiting for my Adviser to comeback from vaca to schedule the 2nd time. How did you do? Was the 2nd version harder?
Awesome! Better than me í ½í¸© I only got 80 but I did very well in chemistry which is very surprising! I got like an 84 I think and bio I still didn't get a 73 I was upset but the lady was like don't worry about it we wanted you to do better than the first time and you did extremely better than the first attempt. I said okay I hope you mean that lol. So now I'm kinda nervous as the admission committee is getting together either they did this past Thursday or it's gonna be this Thursday I can't remember what my advisor told me. I'm hoping for the best!
As for the second time around I wouldn't say it's easier or harder I believe it's about the same just keep studying non stop and you'll get it! If I can get an 84 anyone can get a better score lol I'm horrible at testing but I just dedicated my time in studying!

Yes that book!
I studied only for about a week as they didn't tell me I had to schedule the first test within 10 days of applying. But I literally studied everyday all day. I don't work so that helps. I made notes from the book then just reviewed them and practiced test questions. I don't know if it was just a lot of sections and information to remember that took me off guard or if the actual questions on the test were harder than the book and the app. I plan to focus more on my notes this time for the sciences so I can understand the concept more than just memorizing as I think that may help.
I didn't study much on the grammar and reading as that was easy for me and English is my first language. The vocabulary isn't as bad as you can use context clues but I still practiced a lot as they had asked hard words. I focused a lot on the sciences and the math. They said they look at the sciences the most, obviously, but if you do better than a 73 in math they will recognize that as well! Just read the book make notes if possible and review those notes more than just once or twice. And study study study all day everyday when you can.
