Anyone know anything about this place?

Hello everyone i've been following this thread for awhile now because i've been looking into Chamberlain college of nursing. I know this might sound redundent but i have turned my application in and turned in all my transcripts as well as my sat scores. I am currently studying to take the HESI A2 exam in a couple of weeks. I currrently have a GPA of 2.89 and hoping my HESI A2 score will be great. And i'm not sure if this matters i am also an asian male (people say its a plus but i do not believe them). Is there a chance for me to get in (if i do get a GREAT score on the HESI exam)? How long does it usually take for them to send out an acceptance/denial letter?

Thank you

and congrats to all the people who got in!!!:yeah:

I think you will get in even if your score on the Hesi isn't phenomenal. I know some people have gotten in with lower GPAs and their Hesi scores weren't that high either. My acceptance letter took a while to get to me, so don't let that get you down either. I think mine took a month or two. I've heard that you could get an email or a written letter. I used the study book to prepare for the Hesi and that helped me a lot. I think you will be fine. I don't know about ethnicity or gender being a factor on getting into school but I have seen some jobs that look specifically for male nurses or CNAs. Good Luck!!

Okay thanks!!! I'm actually applying for the bsn program in Arizona. Do you happen to know if the bsn is harder to get into than the adn? It makes me feel a little better. I've been stressing about Taking my test like everyone else as well as stressing about getting accepted!! Thanks again!!!

I'm not sure if one is easier but I'm in the BSN program in Illinois, right now. You will do fine. Just study the book, it really helped me. I never had A&P or chemistry or anything and I did very well!

Good luck to everyone who got accepted this summer and fall.

I had a 2.79! You will be fine!

realhousewife thanx for your fast reply. Do you know what the minimum score is for the A2 exam?

I think it's 80% but I am not positive about that.

I read it was 75%. i went back to my junior college and got some more prereqs done and am finishing them up in the fall and applying again for March. I got in last year but there were too many classes that didn't transfer from my bachelor's in criminal justice/minor psychology. I have to take the HESI again. I got the new book and Kaplin's book is great to get. I got a 92.7% last year before I ever took any of the science. I have somewhere between a 3.4 and 3.5 gpa. So I just have to take the exam over again before November. Is there anyone going next year?

Hi!

I remember reading your posts when I was researching Chamberlain as an option for nursing school. I recall that they didn't take a lot of your credits from your previous bachelor's and that sucked. I'm glad that you are still going to come to the school and it's great that u are saving money by getting those pre-reqs out of the way. I love Chamberlain but it's sooo expensive. It feels even worse when you have previous loans from a prior degree (like me). Good luck with everything!

I have an appt to meet with Angela at Chamberlain tomorrow so hopefully it goes good. I have some out of state classes so I'm wondering if they will transfer over?? If not, I may stay at my CC to finish them up before applying.

HI all! I am new to the nursing form, I was wondering if any of you who have applied for the October 2010 term have heard any replies on acceptance?? I applied JUNE 3rd to the Addison campus with everything complete and still no answers..I am getting very impatient.
