Anyone know anything about this place?
I had the same issue when I logged on to my nest steps. Just call your counselor that you work with and they will set up an appt. with you to come in and take care of everything. It has to be done in person as well as a $150 fee, background check, enrollment agreement and code of conduct form.
I hope that helps,
Tim
Wow, I was very excited to find out about this program (I am waiting to meet with an advisor next week), and after reading a lot of negativity I am skeptical. I have my BA and have taken A&P 1 and 2, Chemistry, and Human Development at Oakton College....are they going to tell me these classes do not transfer??? That would be ridiculous. Does anyone that attends this school have words of encouragement or is at least having a positive experience? If I get into Chamberalin and try getting an RN job after graduation, I don't want "Chamberlain" on my resume to hold me back....is it a good school? Help, I am so confused now!
They took all of my credits and there are people from Oakton that go there. The advisor will be able to tell u for sure but u shouldn't have a problem. The school is great, the teachers really care and there's no waiting list. It's fully accredited and I don't think you'll have a problem getting a job.
Hi. I am completely new to this forum, and have never posted anything anywhere before, so I hope I do this right. I have been accepted into the summer 2010 BSN program at Chamberlain-Addison and this past Friday I went in and spoke with a counselor about choosing my classes. I have several of my pre reqs done but still need to take a few classes that would not transfer. Anyway, long story short, the counselor gave me a recommendation for what to take, then proceeded to tell me it would basically kill me and I was going to have to work my butt off to handle it.
The classes are: CCN100 (success seminar 1 credit hour, first 8wk session)
BIOS 270 (micro/chem combo 4 cr hr two 8 week sessions)
NR222 ( health and wellness 3 cr hr, first 8 wk session)
the second 8 week session I still have micro/chem but switch out the other two for a speech and math class.
This load doesn't seem absurd to me, but I am not great at chemistry and I have never had a micro class. I know it will take some effort on my part to do well in that class. As for the nursing/wellness class, the catalog doesn't make it sound like a terrible class, but the advisor just kept pounding her point home (she literally mentioned how hard it would be ten times) that I was going to be overwhelmed by the reading, quizzes, tests, etc.
I am a serious student and willing to work, but I am afraid of the gloom and doom I am hearing from this advisor.
So, I guess my ultimate questions are, Do any of you have any experience with these classes in this porgram and are you able to give me a realistic opinion of the work load?
Do you think I might be able to add another class like logic and critical thinking as well or might that just push me over the edge? I want to get my last few gen ed out of the way asap but I don't want to die in the process.
Thank you in advance for any and all advice.

I haven't taken the NR222 yet but your second 8-week load with the math, speech and micro is definitely doable. The difficult thing that I keep hearing about NR222 is that it's so different from any other class that you've ever taken. From what I've heard, it's all a lot of reading and the tests are hard because the questions are all about application. One thing I've learned though is you have to take what other people say about a class and compare it with what you know about yourself. I wouldn't suggest adding in a logic class because many of the Gen Ed courses have threaded discussions that can take up a lot of time but if you're focused, your load will definitely be doable.
Hello everyone i've been following this thread for awhile now because i've been looking into Chamberlain college of nursing. I know this might sound redundent but i have turned my application in and turned in all my transcripts as well as my sat scores. I am currently studying to take the HESI A2 exam in a couple of weeks. I currrently have a GPA of 2.89 and hoping my HESI A2 score will be great. And i'm not sure if this matters i am also an asian male (people say its a plus but i do not believe them). Is there a chance for me to get in (if i do get a GREAT score on the HESI exam)? How long does it usually take for them to send out an acceptance/denial letter?
Thank you
and congrats to all the people who got in!!!
