Anyone know anything about this place?
@ dana13 and ladydeeann
Hello, I've been reading your posts. Congrats on getting in. I applied for the July session a few days ago (they told me the deadline was extended until March 26). I applied with a 3.0 (pre-reqs and few gen ed classes) and 2 letters of recommendation. Do you think I'll get in based on that? If you don't mind telling me what your GPAs are? THANKS A LOT! :)
@:nurse:Vladak86, :)don't worry you'll get accepted, there's a reason why they extended the deadline; are you enrolled in a school now? IF so just try to take as many gen ed courses as you can to expedite your time at Chamberlain, anyway my gpa was 3.1 and I got 96.5 on the entrance HESI, I hope this reply relieves some of your stress. Let me know if I could help you more.
I just wanted to chime in as another Chamberlain student for July. I had a GPA of just 2.76. Part of that was taking some pre-reqs like Anatomy and Physiology and I got A's in both of those. I scored a 94 on HESI exam as well.
My main concern now is getting financial aid. If I can't get a student loan, I won't be going so I am waiting to hear back from the financial aid department.
I hope that it all works out and I will be in the July class with some of you (I hope I'm not the only guy). A little over two years and I will have a BSN!
I'm feeling frustrated with nursing school
I have been trying to get into a nursing school for about 3 years. Mostly at my community college but it seems to be pointless. I used to have a 3.6 but had an awful year was hospitalized twice in 2009 and didnt drop classes which led to alot of F's and a ruined GPA. I now have a 2.8 and feel so discouraged. I know its my fault and I cant get over it. I went into Chamberlain today and met with an advisor and she told me to retake some courses to raise my GPA but I still feel that even if I raise to a 3.0 I will still not get in. I am so worried. Do any of you know what the average GPA is at the school?

Retake all the classes you failed and raised your GPA over 3.0.
We know you can do it because you had a 3.6 before you were hospitalized.
@rocky410, don't be discouraged there are plenty of nursing schools that will take your gpa some require that you work with a tutor for the first year and that's a good thing because it ensures that you'll be successful. Anyway the schools in the area are: Chicago State University, St. Xavier, Elmhurst college, West Suburban college of Nursing, South Suburban College, Triton College and any of the City Colleges of Chicago that offers nursing.
Just research them and go to their information session/open house and ask questions, by doing that you should be enrolled in someschool's nursing program by the fall. Let me know how it works out for you.:)
