I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?
Hello future USRNs! Here is my status. I mailed my application on the last week of may including the "signed notarized application". How come my application has been received but the signed notarized application is still waiting to be received?
Also: I am going to my school's registrar tomorrow to give them the "Request for Academic Records/Transcripts" form. I believe that is the TRANSCRIPT VALIDATION FORM but what is the TRANSCRIPT AUTHORIZATION FORM? I sent my application online and had no idea that I could give the form to my school. I think and I hope this will make the process a bit faster.
i'm concerned about the authorization for transcripts and license. i applied online and as i about to print it the address of my school and the PRC are not indicated. and have you change your graduation dates? or as it is?
Did you send your signed notarized application together with your application?
The transcript authorization and validation form must be sent to the CGFNS too because they will be the one to send it to your school. :)
Yup I sent it together with my application including the the transcript authorization and validation. I called cgfns a while ago and the lady said they will be the one to send a request to my school just like what you mentioned. Hopefully they will update my status soon! Reading all these posts about application getting delayed makes me anxious.
have you submitted the original copies of your secondary diploma and professional diploma with the application to cgfns? or i can scan and just print my diploma? is that valid? and is the application is the only one to be notarized? the authorization letters will just be signed? lol... sorry for so many questions..
and also the attended dates of graduation did you change it? isn't it that it is indicated automatically? but i can't change the date.. only the month and year? would i just leave it as it is?
application it says there FOR YOUR RECORDS ONLY and at the last page is the signature and notarized... still will i send all of the pages
to cgfns? and also by means signature i'll put my full name not the unique signature we have? and all of it will be sign using a pen? not edited in computer to print?
i have printed also the payment voucher though i already paid it in credit card online... should i send them the payment voucher?
how to send it to cgfns.. i want to put it in an envelope and write on it CGFNS CVS NEW YORK APPLICATION... what did you do on your application?
and one last thing when i fill up the application to NYSED it says there IN INK... i'll use pen? or should i also edit it on computer and print it... i just want to make sure sorry for all the questions...
hey i didnt submit any educational documents , no need to scan it too ,yeah the last page of the application is the one to be notarized , i am not sure about the graduation date thing

I moved to GA and the board here does require a new verification of my transcripts of origin and forced me to use CGFNS. Its now 3 month that my transcripts from Germany have arrived and despite several calls to get them located they haven't done anything and stay unresponsive. I'm very frustrated and started already to consider to involve an attorney. I would like to know if anyone can give me any advise how to proceed or who has similar experience.

I'm curious how would an attorney assist? They have an essential monopoly. They do not guarantee processing time unless you pay for expedited processing once documents are received. Quite often there is a delay in overseas mail unless traceable delivery service (DHL, UPS, FedEx) is used. I understand your frustration especially without an alternative...
Yes, it is frustrating. Fortunately the board in Germany used a traceable service and thats why I know when exactly it arrived at CGFNS and I even have the copy of the signed receipt (4/8/2015). CGFNS also confirmed that they are already working on/scanning the mail which arrived 1 month later. Its now about finding the envelop and thats where I expect that they put all effort in to find it (lasts already 2 weeks) or to commit that it is lost and to provide me with a separate mailing address to resend the documents. As I see it: I have a service contract and paid nearly $1000 for a professional and academic report. CGFNS states 6 to 8 weeks for the verification and 5 weeks for internal mail processing. They haven't fulfilled the service contract and don't show any effort to do so. Further, thus to the delay I already lost chances for professional and academic development inclusive income lost. I also hold a BBA from Germany which was verified by WES and took only 2 month. Having a Monopol on this services doesn't mean that they can do what ever they wanna do - their business (and it is a business) for me is discrimination of foreign nurses who legally move to the US and want to proceed in their profession.
