I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?
Hi smargadine! Can i ask whats the timeframe once your document from school was received by cgfns and until they forward it ny bon? . Im sure your info can be of great assistance to me.
how have you been? They actually received it last February but they opened it third week of March. After a couple of persistent phone calls haha the report was issued and was sent to BON first week of May. Did cgfns receive your school's documents already?
Hello, guys., I'm new here, and I would really appreciate if you could help me. I've just completed my online application to cgfns cvs for new york state. My dilemma is regarding the format of the bank draft.. I know that it should be made payable to CGFNS. what confuses me is the order number. I'm not sure where to write it, if it should be entered beside the payee's info, so it will state that it is payable to "CGFNS (Order # 123456)", just an example. Should I write it on the back of the bank draft? It says on the voucher that I should write the cgfns order # on the check as well, but the bank tellers told me that it is not advisable to write on it as it may cause the check to be invalid... They are not familiar with the process as well, so they could not give me any advice. Fyi, The bank I'll be using is BPI. Please help.. I'm from the Philippines by the way..

Wow your almost done! Good luck on your next step. So how long does cgfns had your document stayed at them? I guess around 2 mos? Do you have an idea how long would ny bon take the process? Well my school just recently received my docu and it will be mailed next week. Thats the only docu im waiting for. My prc was waived. Im glad!
As what i understand online payment and application for cgfns cvs is quicker and safer. You can pay thru any credit card even if you are in the philippines.
I called the BON and asked the length of processing time and they said the minimum is 6 weeks. I've read from other memebers here that it took them 3 months to have their license issued. They also said it's case to case basis.
Anyway, that's a good news that you're school is going to mail you documents next week already. :) Once cgfns opened your documents and received it,call them every week and get and update on your case. Had I not done that, I would have been still waiting for my report to be issued until now.
