I am very confused about the process of Credential Verification Service (CVS) for New York State.
I graduated from a nursing school in Philippines . But I have neither written the nursing board exam nor registered as a nurse anywhere in the world.
Currently, I am in New York and I need to go through the Credential verification process using the CGFNS CVS service.
However, as a part of credential verification process, CGFNS apparently requires information about my initial nursing license (which I don't have).. I am very confused at this point..
How can I get through the CVS process without having initial nursing license ?

You'll never know they might hasten your verification. Just keep your fingers crossed and persistently calling them really helps. Hahaha Btw, has the California BON sent your license verification already?
Yup. The ca bon already sent it to new york last april 20 and they have it on file. Its an nclex test result only but ny would accept it and no need for me to retest. I just submitted my application form to ny also with the fee and certificate last friday. So as if now, im on the waiting game for the application to complete.
Thanks, smargadine.. actually, I already tried to contact them for a number of times , but to no avail. If I'm going to use the credit card of my mother, will I still need to send a payment vouchr? Because I'm quite unease about it, scared that the voucher might be stolen or what.... please advise....thankyou..
No need to send a payment voucher. Once you paid for credit card, you received confirmation and your all set. All can be done online. Even if you are using your mothers credit card, you wont have a problem about it. I never send a payment voucher on my application. I just paid using a credit card. And i dont have any issues.

I've called them twice and the last time I called they told me that my application and requirements are still being evaluated and it could take from 4-6 weeks or more to be done. How's you cgfns?

Hello, first of all thank you to all those who shared their thoughts in this thread it's a big help for those who are about to do the same thing. I am currently completing my cvs-ny requirements by the cgfns.
My question is am I the one who should fill out the information regarding the licensing authority's name and licensing authority's address in the license verification sheet. Also, if my name has never change and it's still the current name i'm using and it's the one printed in the forms should i leave the rest of the blank as blank or do i still need to fill out the blanks that has 'my current name ( or name in native language)' / 'name when license was issued' or 'name used when attended your school'? I mean my name is still the same even in the native language. thank you.
Hello future USRNs! Here is my status. I mailed my application on the last week of may including the "signed notarized application". How come my application has been received but the signed notarized application is still waiting to be received?
Also: I am going to my school's registrar tomorrow to give them the "Request for Academic Records/Transcripts" form. I believe that is the TRANSCRIPT VALIDATION FORM but what is the TRANSCRIPT AUTHORIZATION FORM? I sent my application online and had no idea that I could give the form to my school. I think and I hope this will make the process a bit faster.
