Cerritos College for Fall 2013

Published

Hi guy!!

anyone applying this month for admissions into Fall 2013?

i'm attending the nursing application workshop this week to apply.

did you guys take developmental psychology before you applied?

i have taken pscyhology 101 at a different college, can that count as an alternate?

So glad I listened to you hope to see you at orientation

No problem. Glad I could be of help :) Hope to see you there too!

Thanks tiffanydef! I'm very excited!! You should definitely contact Cerritos. Don't worry about them being busy. That is their job! I had to call in to check if they received my scores and she said yes and they sent the letter the next day. So definitely give them a call! Good luck with everything! To be honest, I'm still planning on going to orientation at Cerritos. Haha. Although I hear Rio Hondo is a great school, one of my best friends graduated from Cerritos and loved it so I'm a little partial to Cerritos! Initially Rio Hondo was my 1st choice because it is so close to home but if Cerritos takes me I don't know what I'm going to do! Lol. Also, I kind of wanted a summer in preparation for RN school and Cerritos starts in August while Rio Hondo starts in June :/ so we will see! :)

Honestly what you are doing is very selfish...you have already been accepted to a nursing school and you need to be content and happy with that especially since it's so close to your home...it's not fair that you still plan on going to orientation at cerritos just because....it's only going to mess up it up for everyone that are alternates and are dying to get in somewhere...you need to be content with your blessing that you have been accepted to a nursing school near home...don't mess it up for everyone else that's still trying to get somewhere...it's really selfish what you are doing...if i got accepted into any nursing school...i wouldn't even dare think about trying to get into other schools especially if it's close to my home...please think about what you are doing...you're only hurting others and it's unkind to be selfish

IF I give up my spot, they will call on another alternate. Rio Hondo does not start until June 17 and the orientation for Cerritos is June 6. If I do not get in at that point then yes, I will give up my alternate spot. And if I decide to go to Cerritos that gives Rio Hondo plenty of time to call people on their alternate list. Please do not call someone selfish that you do not know. This is my future and if you choose to call me selfish for being picky then so be it.

I would also like to add that PLENTY of students do this. I just happened to be one who is very honest about it. If you look at a lot of students posts, once they found out they got into their dream school, they declined the school they originally accepted. It happens all the time. The school can easily go to their alternate list and pick someone else. I did not originally get into Rio Hondo. I waited patiently for them to call me and let me know that I was accepted after people declined. Did I call people selfish for waiting to hear back from other school? NO. It's not like I'm going to start the school and then drop to go to another. THAT would be selfish.

STOP being such a hater !!!! Be happy for one another! Your time will come

I'm an ALTERNATE at Cerritos. Which means I'm not in yet and I do not have a guaranteed spot. Why wouldn't I go to orientation to see if I got into my #1 school? That's being selfish??? I'm supposed to just go to whatever school accepts me? It's called choices. Yes, I have the right to CHOOSE whatever school I want to go to. Please do not take your bitterness out on me. If I give up my spot at Rio Hondo, and alternate will still get in.

Truth is i am in my first semester at pasadena city college...that was the first school that i got accepted at and thats who i went with even though i live all the way in victorville, ca and got accepted later on at rcc, i went with the first that accepted me...why? Because i was grateful as hell and i was not selfish...i wanted to give other students a chance at a lifetime (junior college nursing school acceptance)... I live 45 minutes from rcc and 1 hour and 45 minutes from pasadena city college....rcc was my first choice but i went with the first school that accepted me because i was thankful, content, and humble....

Lol. Ok. Good for you. You are not seeing my point. If I give up my spot then someone else will still get in. Are you understanding that part? I'm confused... A student will still get in if/when I decline. So your argument is pointless.

Here is what I think.........I realize that everyone is anxious to get into a program....any program.....and that anxieties runs high. But it is important that we be happy for each other and support each other during these anxious time that every one sits waiting.

I think we all lake decision based on what is best for our own situation and family....which is a very personal thing.

As a general principle we as humans need to be kind to one another!

Lets stick to the topic of the thread and not individuals personal decisions
