CEP Feb. Applicants

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi all! Anyone else applying for the CEP program through Maricopa Community College during this upcoming application cycle? I'm applying for the GCC/NAU program and was curious if anyone else is applying this semester as well. I'm hoping I make the cutoff - the program is becoming really popular really fast!

Does anyone have access to their NUR321 class in Blackboard? It starts Monday, right? Usually by now we can at least see that we have classes coming up, and access the syllabus and such. Should I contact someone, or stop being a Nervous Nellie?

I think that you are talking about the general NAU CEP orientation that takes place shortly after the acceptance emails are sent out? If this is the case, then yes I have attended it. It basically goes over how you get enrolled for all of your classes, the things that you need to do before you start the program, and also financial aid (via NAU) will discuss how financial aid works and what you need to do to ensure you get your money.

Were there any specific questions you had?

I was wondering if people brought their spouses to the NAU CEP Orientation? I wasn't sure if it was like the one at Mesa where they encourage you to bring your spouse/family member so they are informed about the program as well? I noticed one session is 5 hours and the other is 4 hours.. I assume you have to go for the entire session? It's not like the CEP application session where you just drop in, right? Thanks for any insight you have! I appreciate it. :)

The NAU orientation was maybe 2 hours? The specific CC orientation I expect will be all day

Oh ok.. Maybe they made it longer? The sessions for the NAU Orientation are 1-5PM on one day or 9AM-12PM on another day. Seems like a long time! I can't remember the exact times of the MCC session but I believe it was 5-7 or 6-8PM in the evening one day. I would think the MCC one would be longer like you said! Who knows! :)

@PinkUNicorn I don't have access yet and was figuring by now I would. However, If I go to the calendar in BB on the bottom left it lists all my classes I'm enrolled in for summer and fall and if I go to June calendar it shows all the assignments that are due for nur 330. I m not able to access them yet, but they are there. So I am not worrying to much yet since it has that there.

I'm pretty sure that they had it scheduled to go for 4 hours but it didn't quite last that long. The financial aid overview was optional and some people chose to leave for that, however I stuck around so I was there longer. Everyone that I saw came on their own.

Okay.. thank you. Also.. did you apply for NAU before the Orientation? The email I received saying I was accepted into the program says to apply for NAU immediately. The paper the NAU Advisor gave me at the application session gives pretty descriptive instructions on how to apply but it says that the process of applying to NAU will be reviewed at the NAU orientation. Should I wait or just get the process started now?

I applied as soon as I got my acceptence email. The instructions they give you at the application session are pretty thorough. However, if you have difficulty with it would rather wait, they will take you to the computer lab and walk you through enrolling during the orientation.

Awesome! Yes the instructions they gave me at the application session are very thorough. The link in the acceptance email said almost nothing. I will apply now.. .no reason to wait! Thanks so much for you help!! :)

So is anyone here starting NUR330 on Monday? I'm mildly nervous...

I do! :D

Yay! It seemed like everyone here was taking the July session.
