Feeling so Bummed
I agree with the other posters in that it seems you are being too sensitive. However, I've always been socially awkward myself and can sometimes get my feelings hurt very easily over something that wasn't intentional by the other person. So I understand. You just have to realize your own idiosyncrasies and take that into consideration before getting too upset about it. Other people's perceptions are always going to be different, and that's OK - you can't control that. As far as making friends, I didn't make my "ride or die" buddies until almost halfway through nursing school. You're only a few weeks in, everyone is still getting to know each other and it will take a while before good friendships will be established. Also, the "cool kids" who were having the exclusive study sessions during my first semester all failed out by third semester. So I guess they weren't so cool after all. Be careful who you associate yourself with.

Also, for some reason I'm nervous...don't know why. It's not like it's the first day of class. But it still feels like it!!

I'm bringing my health and safety documentation just in case they are going over that. Other then that I'm just bringing my iPad and paper and a pen. I don't really know if we're supposed to bring anything else?

It was actually really good! About halfway through class we were split up into groups based on schools (GCC was split into three groups...there is a lot of us!) and then given topics for our presentation that is due the last day of class. We had time to brainstorm and then did a 5 minute preview presentation on what we had so far on the topic. So far the classmates have been awesome. The instructor is great also and seems easy going. I feel a little silly that I was so nervous!

It is, isn't it! It's a little intimidating but so far everyone seems nice. I keep looking around wondering where my AN buddies are?!

I was more excited than anything until I read the syllabus and saw that we have a group presentation being assigned tomorrow. Me + public speaking = !

So is anyone here starting NUR330 on Monday? I'm mildly nervous...

I applied as soon as I got my acceptence email. The instructions they give you at the application session are pretty thorough. However, if you have difficulty with it would rather wait, they will take you to the computer lab and walk you through enrolling during the orientation.

I'm pretty sure that they had it scheduled to go for 4 hours but it didn't quite last that long. The financial aid overview was optional and some people chose to leave for that, however I stuck around so I was there longer. Everyone that I saw came on their own.

I think that you are talking about the general NAU CEP orientation that takes place shortly after the acceptance emails are sent out? If this is the case, then yes I have attended it. It basically goes over how you get enrolled for all of your classes, the things that you need to do before you start the program, and also financial aid (via NAU) will discuss how financial aid works and what you need to do to ensure you get your money. Were there any specific questions you had?

I'm pretty sure that it said that they would give us the information on how to submit it all at the orientation. Not sure if we have to submit it all there, but I'm definitely going to be bringing all of my paperwork with me just in case. Would rather be prepared! Glencroft wasn't even an option for me. And the only reason that I picked HealthSouth was because of the good things I've heard about it. It's actually the absolute furthest from my house and will probably be a pain in the butt considering that we have to be there at 6am! But I would like to have a good clinical experience (is anyone else as nervous as I am for clinicals?). I'm in the evenings/weekends cohort.

Me too!! I even went down to GCC and got my consortium agreement filled out so i can now submit that. It feels nice to check stuff off of the long list we have. Which clinical site did you go with? I got HealthSouth like I wanted. Hope it stays the same...they keep mentioning that it could change at any time!

They must do it different at every college. At GCC they sent everyone a mass email that links to a welcome website. This then goes over every aspect of what is to come (vaccinations, background checks, class registration, uniforms, etc.). Besides having to submit some acknowledgement forms by the 9th, almost everything else is going to be discussed at the all day mandatory orientation which takes place on July 23rd.
