Hi all! Anyone else applying for the CEP program through Maricopa Community College during this upcoming application cycle? I'm applying for the GCC/NAU program and was curious if anyone else is applying this semester as well. I'm hoping I make the cutoff - the program is becoming really popular really fast!

Hi, I am starting NAU EMCC CEP in August. I'm very excited, anxious and nervous all at the same time. Is anyone on this thread also doing the program at EMCC? I have read quite a bit of the posts and no one seems to mention EMCC. I have not yet received my orientation packet from them yet I have called and all they say is they will send it shortly. It is a bit frustrating since I want to get everything completed as soon as possible. I'm glad you all have received your packets though. I have my CPR completed already I did it in December as well as my TB test the 2 step so I will probably have to get a one step tb sometime in July so that it does not expire mid semester. Is anyone doing fast track? I am starting the gerontology class in a week and I am thinking of getting the older edition of the book. Is anyone else also using the older edition?

Hi there. I am going to try using the older edition. I spoke with someone who did the class in the fall and she said she did as well. I am doing gateway/nau and i have not received orientation packets yet either. Where did you get your cpr done? I still have to do that.

I got my cpr certification done with heartsavers. You just have to make sure you go to the one that's for healthcare providers. If you tell them you're a student when you pay you'll get a discount. They have a lot of class times in different locations so it is convenient.You will have to take an exam at the of the class.

Yeah I was just looking at their website but am unsure wether I need bls for the health care provider or cpr pro. Lol I tried to call but they are only open mon - fri so I will try again tomorrow(unless there closed for the holiday) do you remember which one you took?

I believe it is the bls for health care provider but I cannot find my card at the moment so I can't verify sorry. They will be able to tell you if you call or you can try going on the website. Thanks for posting the link :)

Mine says BLS healthcare Provider. I took mine at Heart Savers Inc. in mesa if you already have a book it was 40.00. If you get on American Heart Association it will give you a list of places and dates you can get certified. I'm sure everyone like me is ready to start school:).

It should be BLS for Healthcare Providers. That's what my card says. :)

Hi all. I have to wait till FEB 2015 to apply for the cep program. I just finished my last pre req (hcr240) and still have to fulfill one humanities class for the AA degree. I am a little bummed I have to wait so long to apply. Will I still be able to apply for cep while enrolled in my humanities class? I now have to attend an information session, but the application status page will not let me log in?? anyone else familiar with this problem?

You have to have completed/finished all required classes to apply. You can't be in the middle of a class, unfortunately. Hope that helps. I'm not sure what you mean by the application status page not letting you log in. They don't have the dates posted yet for the next session as it won't be until next February. They will probably have them posted after they start placing for Fall 2015.

I think that you are talking about the general NAU CEP orientation that takes place shortly after the acceptance emails are sent out? If this is the case, then yes I have attended it. It basically goes over how you get enrolled for all of your classes, the things that you need to do before you start the program, and also financial aid (via NAU) will discuss how financial aid works and what you need to do to ensure you get your money.

Were there any specific questions you had?
