CEP Feb. Applicants

U.S.A. Arizona

Hi all! Anyone else applying for the CEP program through Maricopa Community College during this upcoming application cycle? I'm applying for the GCC/NAU program and was curious if anyone else is applying this semester as well. I'm hoping I make the cutoff - the program is becoming really popular really fast!

We have all been exactly where you are now. I was better prepared because I found all the information online and through this website that is great and so is everyone on here. It sounds like your on the right track and yes you are correct. I'm so excited for you to finish your classes and apply in Feb. Once you get into the pool you will be able to see all the information session and application dates. They don't have them posted yet as far as I can see for Feb. As far as the Hesi goes there is a book (Hesi admission assessment exam review 3 edition by Elsever). It helped my out a lot. I would brush up on fractions and measurement conversions for the math, but as far as reading goes its hard to study for that. I think you will be fine just take your time. Good luck keep us informed.

Remember that the prereqs you need depend on which CEP program you apply to. UofPhx, ASU and NAU all have different prereq requirements so make sure you fill the ones that you need. As far as NAU's prereqs, here's the link to the packet with all the info: http://nursing.maricopa.edu/pdfdocs/BROCHURE_NAU_Concurrent_Program.pdf

The HESI shouldn't be too bad if you have a previous degree, just brush up a bit before going in. Good luck with your program! :)

Have you guys decided if you are going to be taking the optional structured nursing review this semester?

I was going to because I've heard that it's really helpful, but realized I can't because of the time it starts. The NAU CEP Facebook group discussed it and a lot of students said that it helped reinforce information.

I think I'm going to take it as long as there is a good time. Only a few more weeks till school:)

I don't know if its the same for all the colleges but i'm taking the math refresher class and it is after lecture from 12:30pm-1:20pm on monday

So I just got an email from my instructor with the final schedules and clinical sites! It's feeling so official now and it's kinda freaking me out!

My only dilemma is that even though the instructor states that registration will be open on Monday, Student Center is letting me enroll in my clinical site and class already (and there are only 8 spots available per site!). I'm resisting the temptation to enroll because she said Monday...but I don't want to lose my preferred clinical site! I don't know what to do!

I would enroll if you can:) Gateway has not sent anything out yet and still are filling spots. At least your getting somewhere:)

Brookelin, I was thinking the same thing, lol. Are you in GCC traditional? Where are you wanting to do clinicals?

So I was just looking at my Maricopa Student Center, and there's nothing listed at all. It even says "To apply for admissions to a Maricopa Community College, click on the MCCCD Admissions link below. Once the application is submitted you can enroll for classes." at the top. Until now I figured it's just cause things were still processing. Are you guys actually able to enroll for classes and whatnot? Now I'm really nervous.

@JustAGirlinScrubs - No, I'm in the evening classes. I think I want HealthSouth. Even though it's the furthest from my house, I want a place that will give me a lot of opportunities for learning. And I've heard good things about them.

I keep checking to see is anyone else has enrolled because then I will...I just don't want to be the first and then l get in trouble if we weren't supposed to! I'm such a chicken!

When you are in Student Center, if you look under admissions, do you see the community college you are attending listed for Fall 2014? If not, then you need to click on the admissions link to the left and enroll for Fall 2014 (just select from the three drop down boxes at the bottom of the screen). If you already do have that listed then I don't know. I would call enrollment services?
