Cedars-Sinai RN New Grad 2011

Does anyone know how many people are inviting to the open house? and how many people do they usually accept in their new grad program?

I just got an invitation e-mail to the open house in June, needless to say I am extremely surprised they even invited me!!!!!! I really don't have much hope to get into the program since I don't have a BSN but I'm happy anyway to be able to go!

Dienne - Nonetheless, Congratulations. You should definitely still go, they might make exceptions!! When did you have your phone interview? I had mine on Thursday and am still waiting to hear back from them.

To everyone else... Who else has received phone interviews?

I had my interview on Friday. I do have a Bachelor in another field but I know they really prefer candidates with a BSN. I do want to get my BSN but since I've been unemployed it's been hard to come up with the money to start it.

I know it's a really long shot for me but I'll go and do my best, it's always been a dream of mine to work for Cedars.....

Katie33, I had an interview 2wks ago but I have not received anything yet. I was nervous during my interview and I don't think I did that great... they really took me by surprise... :sniff: in my view I was not ready for that interview; it was my very first one....

well keep your hopes up... good luck :)

Someone just called me for a phone interview. I was not expecting it at all since the recruiter emailed me saying they are making calls later this week. I was nervous during the interview of course and caught completely off guard but I tried my best. I really hope I get invited to the open house!!!! Good luck everyone!

I received an email May 2 that I would get a call (no mention that it was the actual interview, but I know now!). No call yet, tho, and no email about the open house.

They totally caught me off guard too!! I didn't know too much about CS so the first question about why I wanted to work there was pretty rough, but then I think the rest of the interview went well. It was my first one as well too, but hopefully we all receive calls back!!

Just Curious guys, does cedars send you an email with time and date of phone interview before calling or is it just random? After reading previous calls, I'm completely confused.

I had a missed call from Cedars on Friday. I have no idea who was calling. My voice mail is not set up yet. Two weeks ago, the NR e-mailed me that I'll be receiving an invitation for the open house. So far nothing yet. I've been wandering how I could be invited to the OH without being phone screened???

Help guys, I don't know what to do. What do you suggest??? Thanks in advance for your advices.

It seems like some people are just invited without being interviewed first and vice versa. I really have no idea how they're doing it. The lady who interviewed me said they have almost 800 qualified applicants to go through before they decide who gets to go to the open house.

I'm not sure how they are doing it either but I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who got invited so far

My interview was very brief and basic I don't know if they're actually screening applicants or if they're going to invite everyone to the open house and do the screening there. By reading other threads I know they don't hire ADN's so I really don't have any hopes. But I'm glad and honored to just go to the open house.

One day I will work for them!

My phone interview consisted of 10 questions and lasted about 25 mins or so.

I also got emailed that I will be receiving a phone interview. I did get a call from HR the next day and rescheduled the phone interview for a specific time and date bc I was driving and probably wouldn't have been able to interview & drive at the same time.

No invitation to any open house yet. But fingers crossed!!!
