Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2012

Is anyone planning on applying to Cedars' new grad program this summer? I heard the applications will go up mid-March but so far there's nothing. I read on past threads that their application process is different from other programs so it would be nice to keep in touch and see how it goes for everyone.

No, I got a call to follow-up because I didn't receive the link the first time and he wanted to make sure I got it on the second try. I was very impressed that they followed up. While I had him on the phone, I asked him when I would be hearing back regarding the open house since all 5 of my references had completed the survey. That's when he said in about two weeks. That's all I have to offer at this point. ;)

I received a voicemail from Cedars as well. Called back a couple times and got the machine, so I hope it doesn't turn to phone tag.

hey everyone, i talked to the nurse recruiter and she said that the open house is may 21st. hopefully they make decisions fast so we all have time to plan. good luck to everyone. hope the skills survey email thing worked.

how long did it take you guys to get the skills survey done by the 5 references? Not sure when they expect it back? 1 week is reasonable?

All mine were done within 2 days. Be sure to notify them to expect it before sending it out. I also followed up with one of them after to be sure she received it.

I just had my phone interview yesterday, and all my 5 references finished the survey by today. So I guess they were still making phone calls to potential candidates. No actual invite yet to any open house event. I was just told to wait for Cedars to contact me, since they have about 1000 applicants for only about 50 new grad positions. He stressed NOT to contact Cedars to follow up. Cedars WILL contact all potential candidates, by phone or by email. Haha I think they get a little frustrated that everyone keeps calling to follow up and they have no patience to wait. So good luck to everyone!

Heck Ya! Whoo hoo! btw...does anyone know what this open house event entails? Is it private interviews, group interviews, etc? we are supposed to indicate one area of interest, but I thought their new grad program was initially only for med/surg? lol. Congrats to those moving forward.
