Cedars-Sinai New Grad Summer 2012

U.S.A. California

Is anyone planning on applying to Cedars' new grad program this summer? I heard the applications will go up mid-March but so far there's nothing. I read on past threads that their application process is different from other programs so it would be nice to keep in touch and see how it goes for everyone.

Are they done making calls for Cedars?

Has everyone who's gotten a call from Cedars been above the preferred 3.5 GPA?

Has anyone who hasn't heard from Cedars tried calling them for an update?

I haven't gotten a call yet and I have an MSN and a 3.8. But I wouldn't panic just yet! The Open House is in May, so I'm sure they are still making calls for the rest of the month cause they probably have a lot of people to call. I will probably wait until the end of the month until I start worrying. Stay positive! :)

And congrats to those who got calls already!

Hey all! I received a call on Friday from the nurse recruiter...it was a telephone interview. I also received the email to do the Skills Survey and was told that I will probably receive an invite to their Open House Event. I graduated w/a 3.95 GPA, BSN and I have a license already. I hope that helps. Also, @SallyP911, did you do the skills survey or did she mention the open house?

Actually ignore me about the Open House date, I don't know where I pulled that information from. And I know we hate it when people throw around random information that is based on assumption and not fact, so sorry sorry for causing any panic/confusion!

But I do know that last summer the Open House was in June 8th!

I have a 3.8 and a BSN and also already have my RN. I had my phone interview and was told I would be sent the SkillsSurvey, but have yet to receive it. Anyone else told they were going to receive it and not get the email?

Does anyone know when's the open house? tnx!

Yeah, all 5 of my references completed the SkillsSurvey! Anyone get more information regarding open house?

I too had all 5 of my references fill out the survey on Saturday! I am so excited, I hope I get an invitation to their open house! The recruiter said I would hear about the open house within about two weeks of receiving my telephone interview. It's only been one week, so I haven't heard anything about it yet. If anyone does hear, please post something so we know when to expect it! For those who have gotten a call, did everyone do the skills survey? I am sure that they are still making calls, so if you haven't gotten one, don't give up hope! Good luck!

When I got the follow-up call regarding the SkillsSurvey (yesterday) he told me that it would be in about two weeks from that point.

@sugarlips, so they called you after your skills survey was complete? What did they say? lol...did they officially invite you to the open house via the telephone call? I had my references fill it out last Saturday, but I haven't heard anything from them since. I was told I wouldn't hear anything for two weeks. :/ Any info is much appreciated! :)

Hello nurses! I was wondering if you guys know how important it is to have a BSN? Is it "preferred" or required.

Semantics. You might as well read it as required. I'm not trying to be a smart ass but if you have a pile of BSN and a pile of ADN applicants for a new grad program, who do you think they would consider first? I bet you there's a big pile of BSN applicants for Cedars. Not saying ADNs don't have a chance it's just improbable in my opinion.
