Just wanted to start a thread for Cedars 2010 Grad program. Anyone heard back yet? What are your stats?
I got the email saying that I was selected for the first phase of the interview process. I am only using my nursing school GPA. I'm a second degree BSN student who graduated in Dec 2009, already have my RN license, nursing GPA of 3.97, ACLS/BLS cert., preceptorship in ICU. It's really tough right now for new grads so I feel everyone's pain. I applied to 50+ positions in the last 4 months and only now am I starting to hear back from a few places.
Good luck everyone!
I'm curious whether or not Cedars sent out a preliminary interview to everyone who applied. I'm pretty sure that everyone in my class who applied (including myself) got that email. Wouldn't it have just been easier to make the criteria a 3.5 from the get-go? And does anyone know how many positions they have open for new grads this summer?
I got the email for a phone interview yesterday. The email said that since I live outside of LA and OC (I'm in Northern CA) they will conduct a phone interview. Is anyone getting a in-person interview?
Don't want to bring hopes down, but I've read in other posts (regarding this program) that Cedars Sinai wants cumulative GPA...
Does anyone know what kind of questions will be asked? I also wish I knew how many people they were hiring.

HappyNurse45, Same as you, I got my "Phase 1" interview Monday. I am 2nd Degree w/ BSN (graduated May '09, Passed NCLEX Oct '09). I applied to over 50 hospitals too and Cedars-Sinai is my first response! I too have my ACLS, PALS, and soon ER Nursing Certification through Flex, Ed. Inc.
Does anyone know what the community service certificate is?
Do you guys have LOR's prepared already? I am waiting for my clinical instructors to mail them to me.

So I also got the email saying I was selected for phase one "phone interview." But it then said to email to set up the interview if I have a 3.5GPA. I broke down in tears. I only have a 3.2, which was hard enough to get. So what do I do? Does that mean I can't even have my interview? I've been job hunting for 6 months solid, and this is the first bite I've had... and now I feel so sad to feel eliminated so quickly. Help please.
