Just wanted to start a thread for Cedars 2010 Grad program. Anyone heard back yet? What are your stats?

I too received a "first phase interview" email on Monday afternoon. I have 3.6 and BSN, but have not heard anything back yet. Robotmonkey - if you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA? I am wondering if they are going by that first? Good luck with your interview!

I just replied to the email yesterday. I have a 3.53, and I am a 2nd degree BSN student who will graduate this coming May. I will be scheduling a phone interview since I am outside of the area. Did anyone else hear back for an interview appointment yet? It's already Friday, but good luck robotmonkey! Good luck everyone else, too!

yea, i haven't heard back to make my phone interview appointment either.....the first email i got said to reply by the 9th to make an appointment, and i so I responded right away to that first email...

i'm guessing that the guy is really busy...

I have an interview 4/12 @ in the AM but I don't have my LOR's from my instructors yet!!! Oh no! I don't know if they'll still interview me without them. I have. And it specifically says in the email that "due to the high volume of applicants, we cannot reschedule."

I feel like I've been given this wonderful opportunity and am honored to receive the interview. But I don't have my LOR's and b/c of that may be "disqualified" for the interview. I replied to the email from the RN recruiter asking for advice. What do you guys think I should do?

Any advice/previous experience would be appreciated! Thanks!

Im feeling your pain!!! Just read my venting session, I'm angry and I just need to vent I post on this site!!!! I'm so deseperate I even went as far as calling DaVita so I can volunteer... he told me he would get back with me, another facility told me they don't allow volunteers.

I will have to agree with you, I don't know why I went to nursing school. I should have take PA, instead!!!

I have interview Monday morning as well, but I live across the country! Flights are $1000 to fly out there this weekend plus I have an exam on Tues morning. What should I do?! They sent me an email Friday and expect me to be there by Monday morning!

MVJ0221, Oh my! What a predicament! I hope you find a solution...

My fiance was pretty peeved when I told him I have an interview on such short notice. He gave the same examples, "Who do they think they are to expect people to stop their lives for their interview? What if they have a family death and the viewing is that day (it has happened during my finals)? What if they just started working at Starbucks b/c no New Grad can get into a program in this difficult economy right now and their manager won't give them a few hours off? Is this just another test/hurdle to see if you really want it?"

I had to explain that I can understand where Cedars-Sinai is coming from. They must have 2000 applicants and need to conduct 250+ interviews in XX#'s of days. And yes, they CAN do this to us b/c they ARE Cedars-Sinai--a 977-bed, Level 1 Trauma center with magnet status since 2000!

I'm going to attend my interview even though I don't have my 2 LOR's. I will explain my situation and bite the bullet if they refuse and turn me away. I can only do my best!

I think you should definitely go to the interview and explain the situation to them. They have to understand that with such short notice it makes it very difficult for us to get everything adequately prepared. I do understand that they are an amazing facility with a high volume of applicants but if they want the best people working for them they may want to rethink their hiring process.

I am going to attempt to get a phone interview because I just cannot afford to fly out for a couple days for a job I may not even get. Best of luck to you! Let me know how everything goes :)

Did they not offer you a phone interview knowing you live out of the LA area? :confused: that's odd..even us up in the bay area are getting phone interviews first.

I have no idea! It's very weird..I mean all they had to do was look at my resume. When they sent you the original interview request email, stating you needed a 3.5 to secure an interview appointment, did you write back stating you needed a phone interview or not? I just emailed back the info. they required..

I didn't have to..it clearly stated in my email that "because I lived out of the LA area a phone interview will be conducted first..." All I responded back with was my name, phone number and my GPA.... but I haven't gotten a response back so I have no idea whats going on..haha
