  1. My good friend was contacted today for an interview.
  2. Hey Asherah, I was wondering how you were finding the employment opportunities for nurse practitioners right now. I have just graduated from a BSN program and am going into the NP program at UCLA. I'm planning on (somehow) finding a part-time nursing gig while in school, but I was curious as to how you were finding the employment situation for new grad NPs. Have you had any experience as an RN thus far? Thanks so much!!!!
  3. Yeah, I called and they said they had 34 new grad positions. I actually turned down the interview.....hope that wasn't an incredibly stupid decision....but for a number of reasons it just didn't feel like a right fit for me. Oh well, hopefully someone else who wants the job badly will have an even better shot of getting it now if they are only interviewing 2-3 ppl for a position.
  4. Hey all, I wanted to know if anyone had directly spoken with a nurse recruiter about how many new grad positions are avaliable for the 2010 residency program at University of Colorado. I have an interview scheduled, but I am from out of state. So, if they are interviewing like 1000 people for 10 spots or something ridiculous, then to be honest I don't know if it's worth the flight cost. Should call the recruiter directly, but they never seem to pick up the phone. Leaving a message or sending an email with that question just seems a little off-putting. :) Anyone have a direct word-of-mouth answer? Thanks!!!
  5. Thanks! I will definitely put together a portfolio. Good luck in your search and thanks for the advice!!
  6. I didn't see what they wrote on my paper, but my friend told me that they wrote "Recommend for Interview" on hers. Then they told her that she would hear from them in a couple of days. I wish I had looked at mine!
  7. Hey everyone! I received an invitation to interview last week with the ICU panel on June 4th. Does anyone have any interview tips or what I should expect? Anyone already completed the new grad program have anything to say about it?
  8. Hey everyone! I'm sure you are all going crazy waiting! I have my phone interview with the senior nurse recruiter this afternoon. I am positive that it's near the end of the interviews. I'm from out of state and my name is at the bottom of the alphabet, if that even matters.
  9. From out-of-state? If so, I cant say I'm all that surprised....I feel like I keep on hearing so many different things from them that I don't know what's true anymore!!
  10. Hey you guys, So I spoke to someone in the recruitment office and she said that they have not started contacting the out-of-state people yet. Then she said that all of the out-of-state candidates who have made it past the phone assessment interview would be contacted by a phone interview conducted by the senior nurse recruiter to get to know the candidates a little better. I asked for my app status and she said that I would be scheduled for that in the next 1-2 weeks. Then she said that they would be choosing applicants for scheduling interviews with the unit managers. WOW! This is a process!! Just an FYI for all those anxiously waiting.
  11. Interesting. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that we dont have our RN licenses yet (graduate in May). I'm going to stop guessing now - whatever happens happens. Thanks for your replies!
  12. I have a question for all of you who have already gotten interviews. Do all of you live in-state? No one from my school (in NY) that applied to the new graduate program has heard anything back yet. Wondering if they are interviewing those who live in the area first.....I mean, at this point, any response would be nice. February 1st seems like ages ago. Thanks for your feedback in advance!
  13. I'm curious whether or not Cedars sent out a preliminary interview to everyone who applied. I'm pretty sure that everyone in my class who applied (including myself) got that email. Wouldn't it have just been easier to make the criteria a 3.5 from the get-go? And does anyone know how many positions they have open for new grads this summer?
  14. Hey NurseAbe2nd, Do you mean you got an e-mail to take the behavioral interview via TalentPlus, or did you actually get an e-mail for an in-person interview already?
