Cedars Sinai New Grad Feb 2021

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone! ☺️

Cedars-Sinai opened their New Grad applications for the February 2021 cohort. I opened this thread so we can keep each other updated. Who else applied? I submitted an application and wanted to see if anyone else did. Application closes once they receive 200 qualified submissions.

Good Luck everyone!?‍♀️ ?‍♀️

Thank you for replying and for your encouragement. Since so many in this thread have said that they have received emails for interviews already I just figured that since I haven't received one yet I probably wasn't chosen. I'm really not sure who I would be able to call since so much of this in done online in the beginning.

I've been a nurse since March 2020 and have worked in a psych hospital as well as a SNF. I have my BSN as well. I'm guessing that since I don't have experience working in an acute care setting might be why I'm having difficulty getting in, but honestly I'm not sure. I think that things are just really competitive, but I'm not sure. I guess I'll see if I can figure out who to contact to find out information. At least some constructive criticism on how to improve my chances or to find a place where I can learn best.

Did everyone receive which unit they’re interviewing

Hey! Don’t give up. I know it’s discouraging not getting an interview for a hospital you’ve applied for, but eventually you will get one! I graduated with my BSN last month and have no prior experience as an RN. Apply anywhere and everywhere that has an opening. I applied to all county hospitals as they are always openly hiring throughout the year ? LAC+USC has orientations twice a month. Check that out!

Maybe due to the holidays, they could be behind on interviewing? I still have hope for you, so don’t give up quite yet. If I were you, I would try emailing somebody or figure out who to call. I do see that the requirements state that you have to have less than 9 months Acute care hospital experience, although you say you’ve been working in psych and SNF so I don’t know if this would qualify. And you meet all other requirements? I wonder how many people apply for each cohort.

I agree ^ maybe call HR and ask for an update on your application. It is a requirement to have less than 9 months of acute care experience. If you have more than this, it could disqualify you. Cedars closes the app for the new grad program after 200 qualified applicants.

My application status hasn't changed. I'm guessing that this means I haven't been chosen for an interview. ? I've applied to every new grad opportunity down here in San Diego and although I knew that this one was a long shot at best, but I was hopeful that this one would work out. Does anyone have any advise for a nurse that is looking for a place to support me as I learn to be an amazing nurse? I know I can do this I just need a good place to start. ?

Don't give up! Just trust the process and believe you will end up in an amazing position at a hospital where you will thrive at.

Also, I would recommend for you to reach out to recruiters, maybe you can ask them how your application package can be improved for the next cohort? Never hurts to try!

Hey guys!

So I saw that everybody was getting interviews for their units, and I was kinda bummed out that I didn't receive an interview yet. I just checked my portal and it updated to 'under consideration' again yesterday December 29. I applied to 5N (Cardiac telemetry) and 7S (General Medicine). Anyone have the same thing? I thought I was already rejected, I'm so confused.

Hey! That’s awesome news! They could be still considering applicants for interviews on those units ? I still haven’t heard of anyone interviewing for the unit I have as well. There’s still a chance. Don’t give up. Try to call HR and follow up on that! Let us know what they say

Hey girl, I'm on the same boat! Applied for General Medicine and had a status update yesterday. Hopefully we get some good news soon!

Has anyone received an invitation or call from the oncology unit?

I have put my 1st choice in oncology & hospice, 2nd choice for advanced heart failure unit. My status says under consideration but no updates since 14th.

Hi!! I also applied oncology? My status says Under Consideration which was also updated on the 14th.

Hi! Wondering if you have any updates with your status ? Saw you also applied to oncology and was curious if you ever received any invitation. Would appreciate your reply!

Hi! On the same boat as those who have not received an invite to interview. I’m confused as well since I felt really good about my application and thought I’d have a shot. My status still says under consideration as of the 17th. Did anyone here actually call or contact HR or someone to follow up with their application? Just curious.

Hi there! I am on the same boat as you and haven’t received an interview invitation. My status hasn’t been updated since the 14th as well?
