Cedars-Sinai July 2014 New Grad Cohort

Hi all! I know it is early since they are still contacting people, but I wanted to start a thread for those of us who are starting in the new grad cohort at Cedars-Sinai on July 7, 2014. I know there are at least several of us who are relocating from NoCal and will be looking for roommates or advice on where to live, etc. I am hoping this will be an easy way for us to network and share information as we make our plans and get ready to start.

Congratulations to everyone and thanks for any questions, tips or advice. So. .

Is there anyone out there looking for a roommate?

Anyone local have tips for us regarding where to look for a safe, commutable place to live?

Anyone have tips on getting around town? Is a car essential?

Have you received any further information via email? I haven't heard anything since Tuesday.

I haven't heard back either. Does anyone know if we're getting another phone call or email?

When I got the call on Tuesday, I asked and was told that once they have finished making all the phone calls an email will go out. It seems like it is one lady in the nurse recruiting office handling everything to do with new grad communications. I am just as eager as everyone else, especially since I am relocating for this job, but I am trying to be patient. I am so glad everyone is sharing here that they have not gotten the email yet either. It relieves some of the anxiety. :-)

She told me to look for the email. I figured they would be sending it later that day or the following day. Glad to know I'm not the only one who hasn't heard back. I was starting to get nervous!

Congrats to all who received an offer!! I am so excited, and can't wait to meet everyone!

I have a friend who works there now, and she lives in Santa Monica and only has about a 15-20 min drive in the morning.

Personally I think that you will want a car, there is public transportation but taking a bus around town could get hectic.

Still haven't received an email yet either, let me know if anyone hears anything :)

I haven't received any email. Piggbunny, did the email have information on what floor you were getting, start date etc?

It was a "Skill Survey". It's a checklist that is sent to my references.
