Cedars-Sinai New Grad Program Mar 2014
No problem. The only issue is that I don't know if they held multiple days of second round interviews.

CSUF EL-MSN 2011
I am currently in the program. What questions do you have?

California State University vs. Private School
Thank you for your response, leenak. Yes, I did understand the differences between the two programs. My long term goal is to eventually become an advanced practice nurse. However, at the time of the posting, I was debating which route I would take to achieve my goal. While both programs offered me the chance to become an RN, I wanted to reach out to those who have recently graduated from either school to gain some insight about the programs. Also, the CSUF program is a 3-year accelerated Master's program, not an 18-month program.

What do employers look for when hiring a new graduate?
Thank you for your response!! How do accelerated or entry level MSN programs "scrimp" on the education? I can see why you would be more skeptical of accelerated programs... do EL-MSN students experience less clinical hours than BSN students?

What do employers look for when hiring a new graduate?
YES! That most definitely helps. I am currently deciding between two nursing programs. A private in Oakland and a state school in LA. I am from SF, so I was hoping to work somewhere up north after I graduate. I am leaning more towards the program in LA, bc the cost of tuition is MUCH cheaper, but I am worried that I will have a tough time finding work after I graduate... Any insight?

What do employers look for when hiring a new graduate?
I was hoping to get some insight from some nurses. I will be starting nursing school in the fall and was hoping to get some answers here. I am most worried about finding a job after a graduate (which will be in three years) and I was wondering what you all think is most important in terms of what employers look for when hiring a new grad. For example, does where you went to school weigh more than your experience? Or the level of your nursing degree?

Samuel Merritt University FNP Insight
I know I am getting specific now, but how difficult would you say it is to find a job in San Francisco? Did most of your classmates stay local or did they have to travel to a different city for a job? Also, do you think being a graduate from SMU increased your chances at finding employment?

Samuel Merritt University FNP Insight
Hi SkiBumNP, Thanks again for taking the time to answer our questions. I am just wondering roughly how many of your classmates found jobs after graduating. I am most concerned about taking all these loans out for school and not being able to repay them. I also wanted to ask if SMU provides any job support for their graduates? I've heard that they have a placement program with Kaiser.... but I've also heard they don't help much when their students finish their programs.

California State University vs. Private School
This is a little random, but I've been accepted into two nursing programs (CSUF (EL-MSN) / SMU (EL-MSN FNP)) and I am have a really tough time deciding which program to attend in the fall. If anyone has any insight to either school (Cal State Fullerton or Samuel Merritt) please please respond to this post. There are pros and cons to both schools, but ideally, if there are graduates from either program that can give me any more details about either program that would be swell. Thanks

I haven't received a response either. I'm guessing we'll hear from the school when we get our info packets mid-June.
