Hi everyone,

Firstly, congrats on those who have begun their new journey as an RN at cedars! I just got contacted for an interview for the March cohort - and was wondering if anyone knew when this cohort is slated to begin. Also, any interview tips would be much appreciated :) Thank you!

I hear that this cohort starts mid-March. Good news- less wait! Good luck..

To anyone from the 2/7 group or 2/28 group:

How many hours are we in class that first week?

I am part of the 3/14 group and I am trying to figure my budget for the next month and if I have a rough estimate of how much that first paycheck (for just classroom week one I assume) it would be a great help.

Any other tips or advice for the classroom days?

Thanks in advance!

Awesome, thank you! Forgot to ask : Are we paid every two weeks or monthly? (my HR appointment is in a few days so I haven't been given this info yet).

We are paid biweekly. See you on the 14th! :)

to those who have started last feb 7 - what did you do during the 2nd week of orientation? when are your scheduled shifts given? were you able to get your desired shifts? and what are your feedback now that you guys are on the floor? thanks =)

Congrats to all you guys!!! I am going to apply, but live far away and I was wondering if you know what shifts you will have for the length of the program? Do they allow you to work 3 12s? Or only 5 8s?

We work 12's, but for the first two weeks of orientation it's 5 x 8's.

I'd definitely apply - they hired 94 out of about 140 they interviewed (and I'm guessing may have offered positions to more than 94, as some of them may have declined). So chances are good! They also hired a lot of people from out of the LA area, so I don't think location matters as much to them as for some other hospitals.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply! I live in NorCal and graduate in May. My husband is stationed here and I figured if we worked 12s, I could at least fly back on the off days in a row. Is it a 2 year commitment?
