Cedar... New Grad Program 2011?

Published

Does anyone know if cedar sinai still has new grad program?

I emailed the recruiter (no names) and apparently it was a "glitch".

So all you Feb 7th people, how was your first day? :)

Hello everyone! SOoooo good to see all the posts regarding the email sent. I called HR yesterday and Anthony said it was a glitch and confirmed my upcoming appt this Friday. Feel relieved that soo many people got it and it doesn't mean that we are with out this job! Any Feb 28th starters out there?? Can't wait to meet everyone :)

I called and spoke with Rita yesterday. She assured me that it was a computer "glitch" and to to disregard the email. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the email! :uhoh3:

Lots of sitting and learning. Presenters all day. The good news is that they care about the employees and want us to be informed. I just have a difficult time sitting for so long. Blood products and IV training tomorrow.

What is the dress code for the first week? And in general, does Cedars-Sinai have requirements for particular scrubs? Thanks.

Business casual. It will be covered during your visit to HR. They do a good job with onboarding. Very professional. Don't worry.

Today they gave us a general breakdown of the residency program:

Week 1 - Hospital Orientation

Week 2 - Core Competency Workshops

Weeks 3 to 12 - Clinical Preceptored Orientation on Med/Surg

Week 5 to 7 - Meet with specialty managers (L&D, OR, PACU, ICU, Tele)

Weeks 13 & 14 - Assigned Med/Surg unit orientation --OR--

...Week 13+ - Start specialty internship clinical orientation

By the way, the paperwork also mentioned that the next cohort begins in August-September (2011). They offer two programs each year, one in Feb-March, and the latter as previously mentioned. That is, of course, if things go as planned. =)

Does anyone know if we get differentials while we precept/orient?

no no best part is we are PAID to sit!

yes... still $33.50/hr to sit... not bad... the HR person told me today... and for the physical they do vision, optional flu shots, blood draw for titers, and 2 step TB, at least for me... but i have to do it during orientation because i have to come back for the results and all.. the people over the HR and physical exam were really nice... ;)
