  1. Seriously..this is a loooong wait! I've called -------'s office numerous times and she never picks up. I left her a voicemail and she never returned my call. I've emailed her once and she did get back to me so I'll email her today and see what happens. I just think it's inappropriate and unprofessional to not call back or reply to people's emails, especially when they're inquiring about a position they've interviewed for. Some sort of reply or some information would be nice...
  2. Hi! I interviewed for Cedars' upcoming OR Training program too. Have you heard anything yet? ------ said that they would be making a decision within a week or so and that was on July 26 when she emailed me back I still haven't heard anything...
  3. I called and spoke with Rita yesterday. She assured me that it was a computer "glitch" and to to disregard the email. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the email!
  4. la is an interesting city because the area's can change very quickly. you could be driving down a really nice neighborhood and one wrong turn or one wrong exit off the freeway and the area can be completely different! i've been living in la for the last 6 years and i personally love west la. craigslist is great to use but be careful because the really nice/cheap apartments might not be in the best area; hence, why the rent it cheap. looks are very deceiving on craigslist so always check out the place in person!! you really do get what you pay for in la. when looking for a place on craigslist, type in the location: west la, palms, rancho park, culver city. westwood, brentwood and beverly hills are a lot pricier but have nice places and are near cedars. hope this helps you "out-of-towners" :)
  5. From what Rita told me, we have to be flexible and open with our preceptors schedule since they might work various shifts...
  6. I think that's UCLA but then again, I'm not sure..let's hope not! LA parking is expensive as it is!
  7. I got the call this morning around 9:30am!!!!!! Wheeew! I was getting a little nervous buuut I start on Feb 28th and cannot wait to meet my new co-workers!! I haven't received the 2nd phone call regarding the drug screening/paperwork but am just glad, thankful and relieved I got a spot!! :[anb]: Good luck to the rest of you and congrats to those who have been accepted!
  8. Great job bbyjaden!:yeah:I'm hoping I get the same phone call and SOON! I want to go to the gym and relieve some of this anxiety but I don't think I can....
  9. I'm getting really nervous! I'm ready to call Rita myself! :uhoh21: I got an email last week regarding the Cedars employment application, and I think my interview went well. I just want to know aleady!!!
  10. Hi. I took my test on 10/27/10 and got the good pop-up. Even though PVT worked, I was still nervous; I HAD to see my name on the BRN website to be certain. It wasn't until 10/30/10 at 2am did my name finally show up!!! Check again later tonight, try checking at 2 am. Good luck to you! Btw, everyone that I know who got the good pup-up PASSED.
  11. Luckieladie, I'm sorry to hear about your NCLEX. I know you'll do great next time around especially since you have an idea of what to expect  I've been told that Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination by Linda LaCharity is a great book. I'm actually thinking of buying it to help me study in addition to doing Kaplan Qbank questions. Good luck with everything! WE CAN DO THIS and WILL BE RN's soon!!
  12. Anayo, thank you for your words of encouragment! :) What did you and your friends use to study?
  13. My test is scheduled for the end of this month. I've been studying for the last month and a half using Saunders for content review and Kaplan's Qbank to practice/study questions and rationales (I also took Kaplan's live review course). I'm feeling so frustrated with myself because my Kaplan scores ARE NOT IMPROVING! I feel like I get the content because when I do the practice questions at the end of the Saunders chapters, I do well. However, when I practice questions with Kaplan's Qbank I consistently get 50% (I know that Saunders questions does not reflect NCLEX style questions that's why I use Kaplan's Qbank) Am I doing something wrong? or do I just need more time practicing NCLEX style questions???? So many people tell me to stop doing content and focus on doing 100-200 questions a day and studying the rationales. Is that all I really need to do to pass the NCLEX exam?? Or am I really that clueless and should just change my profession.... I need help/advice. Im trying to stay positive but am ready to give up!
