Does anyone know if cedar sinai still has new grad program?

I asked HR about parking (day of interview) and she said it was 30.00/month.

Also, I talk to Liza today and was told that if you are going in for new-hire paperwork and physical this week, you do the drug screening with them since they don't have time to wait for the outside source.

During my interview, I mentioned casually that I preferred nights, but did anyone actually get asked about it or fill out a form for shift preference?

From what Rita told me, we have to be flexible and open with our preceptors schedule since they might work various shifts...

$30 makes more sense. That's how much I paid for parking when I had my preceptorship there last spring.

I'm going for my physical on the 1st. Does that mean I have to go to quest diagnostics? Or do I just go to cedars?

monkeysarecute: I would call Liza about the quest diagnostic paperwork. When I called her today, I was checking on why I didnt receive it and she said it was because I would be there on friday (in 2 days) and there wasnt enough time before Friday for me to do the screen. I dunno about those coming to do paperwork next week...? Sorry...

give her a call - better to be safe then to miss the timing....

Does anyone know what to expect for their physical? I wasn't asked to bring vaccine info, maybe they draw titers instead? Is it a true physical, like they ask us to run on a treadmill carrying 25 Lbs or something? Or is it a questionnaire? I was just thinking what could possibly take 3-4-5 hours?

Anyway, I am sure it will be interesting....

Is anyone relocating and looking for a roommate?

My appointment is 730 am today and it's not 930am and I'm still in Employee health office. I still have parking and drug test to do. Also I feel cheated. It turned out base rate is 28.71/HR but since we work 12 HR, the equivalent rate is $$33.50 HR with no OT after the first 8hr. I got night shift. Also vacation is only 2 weeks, not 3 like they mentioned. And we have to interview again for specialty. I don't know if I should go to White Memorial instead in PACU. I don't like med Surg and my goal

Is surgical ICU. White package is much better! $33.99/HR day with 23 vacation days. The only thing about White is 8hr shift because it's PACU.

no offense NurseVN but you should def. take the PACU position at White if this one is making you feel "cheated", surely there are tons of people out there who would love the opportunity to begin their career at Cedars-Sinai, hope you make a good decision with this one

\Rita just called and I'll be starting on March 14th!! She told me that she still has 1/3 of the applicants left to call so dont' give up yet and stay positive!! =)

thanks for the positivity!!!! I'm still hoping and praying to get a call... I was one of the last people interviewed that day... Do you think that's the reason i haven't got a call yet?
